A senior Israeli official signaled on Wednesday that Israel was considering further military strikes on Syria to stop the transfer of advanced weapons to Islamist Hizbullah – and warned President Bashar Assad against any kind of retaliation against the Jewish state.
The New York Times quoted the Israeli official who said, “Israel is determined to continue to prevent the transfer of advanced weapons to Hizbullah. The transfer of such weapons to Hizbullah will destabilize and endanger the entire region.”
“If Syrian President Assad reacts by attacking Israel, or tries to strike Israel through his terrorist proxies,” the official said, “he will risk forfeiting his regime, for Israel will retaliate.”

Who specifically?
The Times said the Israeli official contacted it on Wednesday and that he “has been briefed by high-level officials on the Syria situation in the past two days,” but that he declined to be identified, citing the need to protect internal Israeli deliberations.
The newspaper estimated that Israel “could be trying to restrain Syria’s behavior without undertaking further military action, or alerting other countries to another strike.

But then again, Assad might just back down again, and continue to struggle against the rebels within his own borders, and they can all fight bravely to the last man, who will then suicide bomb himself. How that would jive with the various prophecies is another question. But I wouldn’t complain.
But of course... when we are caught up to meet Him in the air, or die an earthly death and come into His presence...

There are numerous prophecies, and little understanding of them. And those who think they know pile one on another and wind up with a house of prophetic cards. The erroneous pre-Trib rapture is just one of those...
...another is Daniel’s ‘70th Week’...the gap theory played with Daniel’s ‘Weeks of Years’ does disservice to what God says in His Word...
...And I am convinced that there is nothing written in Revelation that the Christians John addressed, those in the 7 Churches of Asia Minor, that they did not fully understand...
...Also note the symmetry between Revelation and Genesis...the images in Revelation come from Genesis...
For that and many other reasons, I prefer to just wait and see what happens. The prophecies are all true, but my understanding of messages from the Infinite is limited by my finite knowledge and understanding. After it’s all done, we’ll know exactly what was meant.
