Report: Assad To Allow Hezbollah To Fight Israel From Golan

Iran persuaded Syrian President Bashar Assad to allow Hezbollah to open "a new front" from which to attack Israel in the Golan Heights, Israel Radio reported Wednesday citing a report by the pan-Arab newspaper Al-Hayat.

According to the report, an Iranian source told the newspaper that Tehran is determined to prevent the fall of Assad's regime in Damascus, because the Syrian president has been convinced to open the Golan to all Arabs and Muslim wanting to fight Israel.

They keep a ton of equipment pre-positioned there - just need to truck the men in and they could surge across into syria from Golan in hours.

One of my friends from Kiryat Arba fought in the Yom Kipur war. Syria initially recaptured the Golan, and then Israel took it back and also the higher Syrian Golan peak. His job, together with his unit, was to hold onto that higher peak. He said that the cold on that peak was much more formidable than anything the Syrians could throw at them. It was all that they could do to avoid getting snowed in or freezing to death. Hizbollah wants to launch missiles from there? This oughta be interesting. Best hurry up. “Winter is coming.”
