If Obama had done anything other than go to bed we would hear about it from one of his sycophants.
Pretty sure that’s about all he did.
His whole strategy is to make it look like he had nothing to do with anything. It’s the plausible deniability strategy. He probably did go to bed, but he had left orders and also knew the approach that they were going to take in order to plausibly avoid helping these men: the “nobody here but just us chickens” meme, with nobody around to make the big decisions, etc. Going to bed, or at least appearing to do so, was all part of the strategy.
