Nah , not religuish profits, just allocate a 5 year market control board for fuel just like has been done with dairy products in the past. Just a temporary 5 year injection of fuel into the hands of the people.Government could help fund the several pipelines that aid in this and we can get the pay back for 5 years. Some kind of arrangement like that. We do need an east west pipe line, across the country. The port of Saint John New Brunswick has been hollaring for a line for years. It has become a political embarassment that it has not been done.

With all of the incentives/breaks given to the oil industry in Canada over the years, they owe us a break so we can get things rolling, and we can create the necessary pipe line to do so.At the same time we can export from both coasts.

THe USA pipeline from Alberta to Texas is toast. Its not foregoing of profits. Its quid pro quo on a trans Canada pipe line.

As a consumer of dairy products, poultry products, and energy products I am against marketing boards for obvious reasons. What you are actually advocating is opposite to a marketing board, but we will leave that for now.

Government does not have to fund any pipelines. Private capital is poised to fund and build pipelines from Hardisty to Kitimat BC, to Cushing OK, and to Saint John NB. Talk to the governments of BC, the USA, and Quebec as to why these are not being built.

The Keystone pipeline will be built, unless the US descends into fascism, which seems to be happening right now.
