CNN has obtained an e-mail sent by a top aide to President Barack Obama about White House reaction to the deadly attack last September 11 on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, that apparently differs from how sources characterized it to two different media organizations.
The actual e-mail from then-Deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communications Ben Rhodes appears to show that whomever leaked it did so in a way that made it appear that the White House was primarily concerned with the State Department's desire to remove references and warnings about specific terrorist groups so as to not bring criticism to the department.

That’s hail...Mary.
Wow, the ass covering is in full swing!
Only the wonkiest of lefties will consider this of any significance.
Plain english for this college grad......
What do the talking points have to do with leaving thirty people to die? What do the talking points have to do with lying about a video? What do the talking points on Benghazi have to do with the IRS scandal or the AP scandal?
Answer...NOTHING!
Here’s the problem for everybody ~ the GOP doesn’t run the White House so the idea they changed emails there is patently ridiculous ~ nobody believes anything from the Democrats anymore anyway
Yep!!!! They are attempting to cover their asses.
Or running guns to Syria???
YES!! I knew I was leaving something out in my rush to respond....lol.
Or where he was all afternooon and night.
Yep!!
And who knows about what we DON’T know about??
Maybe someone should ask Reggie Love..
This does not at all explain away the 12 versions of talking points, which systematically expunged every reference to Ansar al- Sharia (Al Queda), pre-planned coordinated attack, and unheeded CIA warnings about potential attacks.
I’m not getting how the GOP altered the emails. Which emails? From whom? To whom?
for later
Use of the term ‘equities’ is a little obtuse.
I guess that all depends on what the definition of 'appears' appears to be.
I assume you’re joking. The email says very little that was different and in any case, the news agencies were all working from a summary of the email sent to them - by the White House! So any discrepancies are once again s product of the White House. Nothing has changed and if anything it’s worse for them.
“did so in a way that made it appear that the White House was primarily concerned with the State Department’s desire to remove references and warnings about specific terrorist groups so as to not bring criticism to the department.”
Those were only some of the details. What it APPEARED to be to EVERYONE was that the ‘WHITE HOUSE’ is, and has been lying, covering up crimes, using our military and resources to aid the enemy, blackmailing any Republican/Conservative opposition using the various branches of the government, and not being particularly good at golf.
