EUGENE, Ore. -- Dozens of moms spent their Mother's Day marching against gun violence.
The 14th annual Million Mom March in Eugene stepped off from EWEB Waterfront Plaza Sunday afternoon.
Before the march, Mayor Kitty Piercy and other women spoke about the need for stricter gun laws.
Betsy Steffensen helped organize Eugenes march, and said the event gives moms the power to make a huge change in the world.

World disarmament? seriously?
Because humans were so peaceful before guns were invented....
Single Mom’s naturally. Obama voters. Emily’s list.
This is all a misunderstanding: it’s really the Multi-Mom March.
I’d like to see their giant magnet that they’re going to use to gather up all the guns, not only in America, but the world.
Also, while they’re at it, they need to show us the “mass amnesia” machine that removes all knowledge that firearms existed and how to make them.
From the FBI Portland October 29, 2012:
“Today, the FBI released its annual Crime in the United States report for American cities. Nationally, violent crime fell for the fifth year in a row, dropping 4.5 percent (per 100,000 people) in 2011. Property crime fell for the ninth year in a row, dropping by 1.3 percent. In Eugene, there were decreases in the number of rapes and motor vehicle thefts, but increases in the numbers of robberies, aggravated assaults, burglaries, and larceny-thefts. There were no murders/non-negligent manslaughters in either 2010 or 2011.”
NO murders 2001-2012. WTH are they marching for?
These are exactly the people most likely to be victimized by violence. If anyone should be armed it should be them.
“Betsy Steffensen helped organize Eugenes march, and said the event gives moms the power to make a huge change in the world.”
Geez lady, get over yourself, and get a life while your at it.
"dozens" showed up??? By my count, the main picture at the article source shows 11. That's not even a Baker's Dozen... title should be: "Almost one regular dozen Mom March"

Whose children is that old windbag talking about. If she had any children they would be in their 50s.
Attack of the Cindy Sheehan clones.
Notice the “Occupy” headband.
You beat me to the punch on ‘granny’. :)
Guess they missed the “highly publicized” DOJ(?) and Pew info that just came out about the 39%/49% reduction in “gun crimes” since ‘93 despite the huge increase in gun ownership. But they really don’t care about facts anyway. Useless idiots.
In the absence of firearms, a physically stronger person is able to impose his will pretty much whenever he feels like it, or at least whenever another even stronger person doesn’t stop him.
In case these ladies hadn’t noticed, this is not a recipe for female equality.
A 100 pound lady with a Glock has very nearly the same potential lethality as a 300 pound bruiser with a Glock. Possibly greater, since the big guy is an easier target. Without the weaponry the disparity is a good deal more significant.
One problem here is that most of these women have (despite their obsession with it) never suffered physical violence by a male. They really have no idea how vastly they are outclassed in a physical contest.
Shoulda-coulda-woulda....
The breakdown of the two parent family especially with whites into single Mom and kid families has resulted in a large % of American wimmmin who see the government the way families of the past saw God, and add certain minority groups.
They trust it and pin all their hopes on it and to the extent that it fails to deliver they simply blame Republicans for it.
I’m sure they don’t mean to disarm agents of the government.
And that’s the point - no one should be able to resist the government imposing its will on everyone.
LOL! Nailed it.
