A group of Hispanic custodians at the Auraria Campus in downtown Denver are claiming they are victims of discrimination.
Theyve filed a complaint against the campus operator that could be reviewed by a federal judge.
What started out as a miscommunication over a schedule change for employees working the graveyard shift has become a full investigation by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Too many things have happened to me there that I dont even know how to explain it, said Auraria custodian Bertha Ribota.
Ribota said she was injured at work because she couldnt read a warning sign that was in English.
If I could speak English I wouldnt have the problems that exist, said Ribota.
Last week 12 custodians from the Auraria Campus filed an EEOC complaint against the Auraria Higher Education Center, which is the organization that maintains the campus for Metro State University of Denver, the Community College of Denver and the University of Colorado Denver.

Aprendan Ingles!
Hey, lookin sharp Colorado...
“Am wondering how these people applied for their jobs!!! “
Just as medical facilities accepting government reimbursments must provide translators for ANY languages that walk in the door, I can see this coming to employers of all types that accept government funding.
You ain’t seen nothin’ yet! Wait until the 8 Gangbangers shove amnesty down our throats. Courts will have 10 year backlogs. There is a reason foreigners want amnesty and it doesn’t have anything to do with U.S. citizenship.
Tax paid government interpreters alone are costing the tax payers hundreds of millions in tax dollars...Add in everything else including healthcare/welfare.....You're talking trillions of tax dollars..
American private sector gets economically gang raped 24/7.
“Ribota said she was injured at work because she couldnt read a warning sign that was in English.”
“Warning! Detonator! Do not touch!”
So whose fault is it she can’t speak English? Oh, I forgot about the judge that put off a trial for a guy that didn’t speak English, calling it incompetance I think. So I guess add that to ADA.
If I could speak English I wouldnt have the problems that exist, said Ribota.
Oh, so Ribota, YOU are discriminating against Americans because you’ve chosen NOT to learn the English language?
We also didn’t post language in Vietnamese, yet those folks have done just fine in this country.
So Ribota how would you like to use the woodchipper next with the seat belt on it so you can’t fall out?
