Hours after a West paramedic was arrested for possessing a destructive device Friday, the Texas Rangers and McLennan County Sheriffs office launched a criminal investigation into the fatal fertilizer plant explosion that killed 15 people, injured 200 others and damaged hundreds of homes.
But authorities have yet to say whether the arrest of 31-year-old Bryce Reed was related to the April 17 explosion at West Fertilizer Co. Reed was being held by U.S. marshals on Friday after he was booked into the McLennan County Jail. As Reed was due in federal court in Waco on Friday, divergent portraits of the man emerged.
A woman who has known Reed since November described him as a great guy who would do anything for anybody. But the sister of a firefighter Reed eulogized at a public memorial last month said she had to ask police to guard her deceased brothers apartment because she feared Reed had been stealing from it since the blast.
Instead of grieving my brother's death, we're dealing with all of this, said Sarah Reed, who is not related to Bryce Reed.

code for, “ Total Wacko “
...they can't imagine any problem with 100,000 muslim jihadis with H-1B and L-1 visas working in power plants, fertilizer factories, refineries, chemical manufacturers, hospitals, utilities, dams, pharmaceutical formulators, web hub server farms, municipal water supply facilities, sewage treatment plants, driving HazMat trucks!
Yes, well call them Unions.
What is a “destructive device”? I have destructive devices in my house - kitchen knives, other knives, box cutter, personal defense weaons, ice pick, scissors, sharp plastic that enclosed something mailed (those things will cut you trying to get whatever out of the hard, sharp plastic), is my Yorkie a destructive device? Yes, she was when she was determined to dig holes in sheet rock on the wall. Oh, yes, my 24 inch long machete used to cut down limbs coming into my garden.
OK, my place is too destructive for human habitation.

Definitely reason for suspicion
No expansion on this MSM sound bite.
The government desperately needs a non Muslim white guy to point at lately, I'll wait awhile to see the "evidence".
He had a pipebomb.
Note to self: Do not pick Marcella's tomatoes.......
Another one of those who cause a disaster so they can rush in and be a hero?
These situations can easily get politicized and then polarized, but the logic of the situation is more complex. You could have all of the following at the same time, dangerous Islamic radicals, disturbed individuals doing random acts of mayhem, elected officials working for foreign powers and subverting American freedom, and corruption in high places.
Each situation needs to be assessed on its own merits (or demerits) and not placed in some sort of interactive framework, such as “either one or the other are more dangerous,” because different threats could be dangerous without one being dependent in some way on the other.
The most dangerous people in America today in any case are neither Islamic terrorists nor lone wolf nutcases, but the government itself, especially if they are undermining the economic security and military security of Americans.
I’m going to posit that it is possible the arrested paramedic is innocent and was trying to protect the reputation of his dead firefighter friend.
The firefighter supposedly had a thing for fire and explosions and the paramedic knew he had materials in is home and was just getting rid of them to avoid the obvious questions and suspicions they would bring.
Doesn’t mean the firefighter had anything to do with the plant explosion other than dying in it. Just that his hobby and his death would cause ugly speculations and the paramedic thought he could spare the family by removing certain items from his dead friends home.
Only to catch the suspicion and blame he was trying to prevent.
Red, that is a Cold Steel brand machete and the blade itself is 24 inches NOT including the handle. When it came, I couldn't believe it was that long. It looked like I was set to lop off zombie heads like the black girl on “Walking Dead”.
If you “stole” my tomatoes, I could also get you with my Walther pellet handgun. That is to take out squirrels (or birds) that would get my food if TSHTF. I already have a young squirrel getting in there and if he eats my food, his days are numbered.
If you tell me you are coming to see me, ignore the mat in front of the door that reads, “Come Back With A Warrant”. I will let you in to meet my 5 lb. Yorkie who loves everyone, and I'll give you a tomato (after they get ripe which they are not right now).
“if he eats my food, his days are numbered.”
He IS food.
“He IS food.”
If I have to “take him out” now, he’ll be fertilizer in some container. If it’s after TSHTF, he’s in a stew.
