Nancy Pelosi indicated she would be visiting troops this weekend but for sequestration:
"Every year for the past few years, on Mother's Day, I've gone--I've taken a delegation--into Afghanistan or Iraq, we're alternating now, now Afghanistan--for Mother's Day to say thank you to our moms and, by the way, our grandmothers, who are serving there. Some young grandmothers. But, nonetheless, grandmothers. To also thank all of our troops for what they do to protect America's families. I won't be going this particular weekend because we don't have--you know, under sequestration, we don't have codels."

If I ware in Afghanistan and had the choice to be left alone for Mother’s Day or get to meet someone who wants to take my 2A rights away at home, it would be a no brainier.
What is the point of her visiting troops on MD?
Is it because she’s like their mother?

If she really wants to visit troops on Mother’s Day there are many bases within easy driving distance of the Capitol. Boehner should send her a letter with driving directions from the Capitol to Fort Belvoir, Andrews Air Force Base, Fort McNair, the Marine Barracks at Eight and I, the Washington Navy Yard, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Naval Support Facility Anacostia, Bolling Field, Fort Myer, Fort Lee, Naval Station Norfolk, joint base Langley-Eustis, Fort Meade, Fort Detrick, Fort A.P. Hill, Patuxet River Naval Air Station, U.S. Naval Academy, or the Yorktown Naval Weapons station. If she really wants to meet with some troops from Afghanistan, she could always run out to Walter Reed Hospital, which is only 6.4 miles from her DC office, and see the real heroes.
I’m not holding my breath for a Republican response.
