No single mistake cost Mitt Romney the presidency, former Romney advisor Gabriel Schoenfeld writes in the opening page of a tell-all book centered on one mistake on a single day in the 2012 campaign: The Republicans hasty and flawed reaction to the terrorist attack in Benghazi, Libya.
But Schoenfeld argues nonetheless that Romneys inability to respond cogently to the Benghazi attack was a key component of his defeat. A man celebrated for his management prowess delegated an immense mount of decision-making power to individuals who failed to carry out successfully that and other basic functions, writes Schoenfeld, who held the title of senior adviser on the campaign. The author substantiates his critique with a biting assault on Romneys campaign team, especially campaign guru Stuart Stevens and especially policy director Lanhee Chen.
Chen was no Henry Kissinger. Schoenfeld writes, noting that the policy director preferred to be referred to with the honorific of doctor. Indeed, he had once self-deprecatingly boasted in a meeting that he could not find Finland on a map, Schoenfeld adds. Stevens, he continues, was controlling about cosmetic issues like how to distribute the campaigns major policy bookbound or on digital USB sticksbut wasnt concerned by its contents.
Despite his campaign title, Schoenfeld worked mostly outside the candidates inner circle. Reporters who covered the Romney campaign publicly wondered who the author was after news broke of his 74-page eBook, A Bad Day On The Romney Campaign: An Insiders Account.

Romney lost because his policies were identical to Obama’s.
huh? I do not even remember what he said, does anyone?
Romney was the lesser of two Democrats, the other one won.
A man who couldn’t put together a proper campaign team could not be expected to be President of the United States. We tried to tell them that, he failed to beat the man who was beaten by Obama the first time. Good grief, the epople who run the RNC are the dumbest people in the world and we don’t want them as our “leaders” anymore. We want people who actually possess a brain.
He lost because of not convincing real conservatives he’d make a real new difference. He lost because journalists didn’t want him to win. He lost because the Democrat machine figured out there were just a handful (maybe more) precincts in a few key states where above all that in normal Democrat precincts would make a BIG difference.
He won because he cheated. He won because media convinced the public MR was a murderer. He won because he was black and his constituents actually loathe America.

I well remember the second debate between Nobama and Mitt. When B. Hussein and Candy Crow collaborated together over Benghazi.
Mitt didn’t stand a chance. But did Romney lose the election over Benghazi alone?
Of course not.
He lost because he was suppose to lose just like McCain. They were not chosen to run by the people.
translation: When his statement met the media hue and cry he curled up in a ball and let it go. The American public, seeing that he had neither a spine nor balls, and already predisposed to not like Wall Street types, decided he was not their guy.
Voted for Loser Mitt but “What does it Matter”? No longer give a shitte about voting Repubic nor DRat.
Usually something along the lines of 'voters are really gonna get mad at you if you keep investigating me', or some variation of that theme.
Romney was COWED by the administration...and did not scream bloody murder about Benghazi.
he lost the election in so many ways as to make it look like he was paid by the regime to run, just to lose.
The whole Mormon Cult leader thing didn’t help either, and neither did his characteristic of being a perpetual liar and flip flopper. We already have a cult leader and deceiver in office who thinks he’s a god NOW, so why go with the one who thinks he’ll be a god AFTER death?
“Mitt didnt stand a chance.”
If Mitt couldn’t handle Obama and Crowley in a debate, he couldn’t handle being President. There are many ways he could have dealt with the situation including putting the moderator in her place and then formally requesting a Congressional inquiry into the event. That would have shown leadership and courage. Instead he folded and looked weak. Obama was on the attack and he couldn’t stand up to him.
