Buried deep in the colossal immigration bill thats floating around Congress is an obscure little section that rewrites the current immigrant visa waiting list to allow millions to cut in front of the line via new categories of family-sponsored immigrants.
As if it werent bad enough that the measure, known as the Schumer-Rubio bill after the New York Democrat and Florida Republican pushing it, already offers 11 million illegal aliens instant amnesty. A nonpartisan group dedicated to researching legal and illegal immigration into the U.S., discovered the provision in the course of dissecting the monstrous legislation, which at last count spans 844 pages.
The groups Director of Policy Studies, a former State Department foreign service officer, found this interesting little tidbit that the mainstream media is unlikely to mention; the bill expands an old visa criteria by adding three new categories of family-sponsored immigrants that will instantaneously be allowed into the U.S. They include single and married adult sons and daughters as well as siblings.
This will allow more than 1.4 million family visa applicants to bypass the current waiting list and be admitted immediately and will permit an additional 2.9 million visa hopefuls to enter the U.S. as temporary visitors. This is outrageous since we all saw what temporary visitors did on 9/11. Its fair to assume that this can only weaken national security, which isnt all that strong to begin with.
This expansion is found in Section 2308 of the legislation, on V Non-immigrant Visas. Originally, the V visa was created to allow the eligible kids and spouses of legal U.S. residents (green card holders) to enter the country if they had been waiting a minimum of three years. The change will reward a much larger group with immediate U.S. entry under a perk intended for children and spouses of those living in the U.S. legally.
Heres another interesting detail; a chunk of the new immigrants can get work permits upon admission and will be processed similarly to immigrant visa applicants, with pro forma fingerprint and medical screenings. Those not entitled to a work permit can still stay in the U.S. up to 60 days a year and its likely many wont leave. Why should they? After all, they have already discovered that following the rules is not rewarded (many have been on the waiting list for several years) and overstaying is a better deal, the immigration research group points out in its analysis.
Earlier in the week another well-known D.C. organization published a report asserting that the pending immigration legislation will cost American taxpayers an astounding $6.3 trillion . Thats because newly legalized immigrants would receive $9.4 trillion in government benefitssuch as Social Security, Medicare, unemployment and workers compensationand services while paying only $3.1 trillion in taxes.
Why am I surprised?
I won’t argue with that, either....My feeling is that an American politican ranks below that of a lawyer, union member or a (ugh) journalist.
Yep, it stinks more with each passing day.
I pray you’re right about the House. Hopefully more of this treason comes out before voting takes place, it will help insure it doesn’t pass.
Deport the “Gang of Eight!”
Ted Kennedy broke it in 1965.
Rubio is going to switch parties after this passes. Watch.
Well, I don’t even have a problem with your assessment, given my experience being oppressed by Obama.
I won’t even go into my dream of how this is all resolved.
Its all about “the race.” I know of two Latino GOP activists that are pushing for this monstrousity and am beginning to wonder if they are not plants. They are backing Rubio big time on this bill, saying the GOP is losing because of their resistance.
Rubio is forever tainted in my book. Give me a real conservative Latino like Ted Cruz and forget this sham. That commerical with him blabbing about how tough this bill is on illegals wants to make me puke.
bump!
It’s instructive that none of the bill’s advocates are aware of its contents. It seems that, as with the HC bill, nobody with a vote has actually read the bloody thing.
I know I’ve mentioned this before...
but check out the Edict of Caracalla, 212 AD. There’s a Wiki entry on it.
The Emperor’s motivation to legalize Rome’s illegals was the same as present Washington’s: $$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Amen to that!
Stop with the racist crap.
“Ethnic identity.” Mexicans loathe Cubans. If you got your information from something other than radio or the talking picture box, you’d know this. (Mine comes from 25+ years of marriage to a Cuban.)
You need to get out more.
Otherwise...Rubio’s loyalty is to Washington’s Master: money.
My wife’s family took fifteen years for all to be naturalized, despite the fact that they are political refugees (from Cuba).
My father-in-law still won’t talk about the bribes he had to pay on both sides of the border.
and each of those legalized get to bring in extended families too, under existing law!
I've HAD IT with him. Conservative my ass - the guy is as phony as a three dollar bill.
Rubio delivers his lines well. He may actually believe them.
But everybody he's addressing knows damn good and well that the federal government cannot be trusted to administer the "tough conditions" that are mandated by the Gang of Ocho bill.
The moment this bill is approved by Congress, it will be tantamount to opening the border and granting full amnesty to every illegal who can find his way here.
To hell with that!
“Rubio is a traitor.”
The alternative explanation is he trusted Schumer and the Democrat Senate staffers to write the bill and didn’t verify what they wrote. He is either naive and stupid or a traitor. Like McCain, he is not fit to be President.
