CLEVELAND Years after Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus disappeared, FOX 8 News has learned that both girls have been found alive.
Cleveland police said both missing teenagers were found Monday at a home on Seymour Ave.; along with a third girl, Michele Knight.
Berry, DeJesus and Knight are reportedly being checked out at MetroHealth Medical Center.
A press conference is set to be held at Metro later this evening.
A 52-year-old is reportedly in custody.
On April 21, 2003, 16-year-old Berry called her sister to tell her she was getting a ride home from work at the Burger King on West 110th Street and Lorain Avenue.
After that, she disappeared.
A year later in 2004, Gina DeJesus disappeared. She was last seen leaving school on Lorain Ave. Gina was 14.
Searches and vigils have been held throughout the years to try and find the girls.
Now, amazingly, both girls have been found alive.

small children found in the home too
Wow! Can’t wait to hear more of this story!
creepy
Sounds like the Jaycee Lee Dugard story
A week after her disappearance, her mother got a phone call from a man who claimed to be holding her daughter and that she was safe. He said he was married to Amanda and that her mother would see her in a few days. When Amanda's mother asked to speak to her daughter, the man hung up. Amanda's mother did not recognize the caller's voice, but she thought he was sounded like a young adult, between eighteen and thirty years old. He never called back and has never been identified. The call was traced to Amanda's cellular phone. Because of this, authorities believe the caller had genuine knowledge of Amanda's disappearance. It was determined that the call was placed somewhere near west 58th and Clark Streets.
Another similar case (linked in both of the above, but not identified in the article):
A month later, she called her mother to say she was okay and not to worry.

There was a black serial killer, Anthony Sowell, (I guess they DO have black serial killers, eh?) in Cleveland a few years back who was caught. He had killed 11 women, buried some, and kept other bodies inside the house. The neighbors had complained about the stench for quite a while.

Cleveland is an interesting place.
Oh, I forgot to mention that the cops are pretty dumb/lazy, too. I guess you might have figured that out.
I remember the story of Gina DeJesus..so glad that she has been found along with the other girl..WOW what a miracle!!
What do you think about this performance by “law enforcement?”
That was a great interview — and he had the guts to get involved. I’m guessing your taking a chance when you don’t mind your own business in that sort of neighborhood. Thankfully he wasn’t afraid to get involved.
The guy who rescued both girls is a hero..just sitting at home eating McDonalds and saved lives not realizing who he was saving were missing girls from a decade ago
that was a great interview, thanks for the link. He explained the situation way better than the article.
“Cleveland is an interesting place.”
Well, RWA, there is a reason we (Ohioans) call it the Mistake by the Lake...
Wouldn’t miss it at all, if it was to slip into Lake Erie.
I was a bit surprised how cold the 911 officer was. He actually hung up with her. For goodness sakes, he should have kept her on the phone till the officers arrived.
Did you see how close those houses are to each other? Something is not right here. How could he keep three full grown women there for TEN years and at no point were they able to scream, holler, bang on walls to get somebody’s attention? I wonder if it will come out that one or more of the women had previously gotten somebody’s attention, but not help.
There is also the possibility of Stockholm Syndrome as well.
The case of Jaycee Dugard and Colleen Stan as well come to mind.
2 others have been attested. Perhaps, they were guarded often
Making a total of 3 arrested.
