NFL player Brendon Ayanbadejo told Bob Schieffer, host of CBSs Face the Nation, that professional sports and religious organizations are the last closets that need to be opened for LGBT people to gain equality.
On Sundays show during a discussion with homosexual pro-athletes and others about the recent announcement by NFL player Jason Collins that he is gay, Schieffer asked: Do you think this is really the last frontier for gay acceptance and equality?
No, I still think we have a ways to go, said Ayanbadejo, a free agent who describes himself as an ally of the LGBT movement. The religious community, we respect religion, and we want people to have their religion and also not change religions, but we want people to be accepting of everybody.
So I think the religious community and the sports community, between the two, I think those are two of the last closets in America, two of the last places where people are accepted, Ayanbadejo said. So once we get people to realize that you're born gay and that gay people are disenfranchised and they don't have all the same rights and benefits as everyone else and yet they're no different than everybody else, we can get past this unfortunate incident that's going on in our country every day.
Schieffer then asked if Esera Tuaolo, a former NFL player who wrote a book in 2006 about playing in the league while secretly being a homosexual, agreed.
Tuaolo said that the gay movement has taken some baby steps forward but more needed to be done on the sports and religious fronts.
So we have a lot to work on, like Brendon said, you know, with religion and sports and the NFL and the four major sports. I think those are the two last closets that we need to tackle, Tualo said.
I am so sick and tired of hearing how NORMAL it is to be a HOMO, I could PUKE! GIVE IT A REST!!!!!!!!!!
I am so sick and tired of hearing how NORMAL it is to be a HOMO, I could PUKE! GIVE IT A REST!!!!!!!!!!
I keep getting more into baseball and religion. I guess all of us bitter clinger will go into the closet when the gays come out.
4% of the population means ‘normal’. Punishing the many to please the few. That’s the sure path to chaos, and that’s the plan.
2% dictate the morality and acceptability of the 98%
We are the 98% (maybe we should march with that slogan).
the irony of a double post
That may be the most ignorant, no check that stupid statement I have ever read.....and I have read many stupid statements.
I am personally sick to death of 2.5% of the human population dictating every damn thing we do.
It is time to STOP the agenda.
4% in their dreams, more like 2 or 2.5%
I’m sick of being told that there is nothing wrong with bug chasing and gift giving, and that I have to accept a man who mutilates himself as a woman.
go back into the closet
America risks becoming Sodom and Gomorrah and we all know how that worked out
Yeah, these last two hold-outs are hold-outs for GOOD reason. Obviously no mainline religion thinks homosexual activity is desirable or acceptable as normal. Sports, particularly male sports, are bastions of masculinity and competition. They are not designed to be accepting of people who share the same emotions as regular females.
The military would be the third organization to flatly reject this crap, but unfortunately, because of their non-private nature, government Marxists can force “acceptance” onto them.
The more our society promotes it, the higher the percentage goes.. Females can turn at any given time.
How come lesbian sex ends with a strap on ?
Exactly what is this man saying? Are we to accept sexually deviant behavior and its consequences? Does he understand that same sex union cannot be achieved without adding serious risks and cost for all involved? Does he realize that unnatural behavior will not stand, that it is just a transient popular culture?
Persons with homosexuality are significantly more likely to have psychological disorders, substance abuse problems, suicidal ideation, and to have been victims of childhood sexual abuse and violence. The relationships of men attracted to men are more likely to be short-lived and are almost never faithful over time. The HIV/AIDS epidemic among men who have sex with men continues unabated and has been linked to substance abuse and sexual addiction. Men who have sex with men are also 44 times more likely to be HIV positive, and far more likely to be inflected with other sexually transmitted diseases.
These people are pretending that sexual deviancy is just another choice with no consequences! Just raise the price of tickets to sporting events to cover the added costs of health care!
Sports and Religion Last Closets in America In Gay Rights Movement, NFL Players Say
See, all along WE were thinking the word of YHWH came from Moses and Christ, and further taught by the Apostles...but no, we were mistaken, my friends.
Brendon Ayanbadejo
was the ONE we have been waiting upon...to show us the TRUE way of righteousness.
>> LGBT people to gain equality.
Idiotic premise.
Dear Brendon,
It is not about equality. It is about sin. It is about proclaiming yourself to be a sinner, and reveling in it. It is about proclaiming yourself to be a sinner, reveling in it, and demanding we accept your decisions.
I don’t have to accept your CHOICE to participate in a deviant lifestyle. BTW, that lifestyle is condemned by God. Clearly. Unequivocally.
Don’t tell me to accept your choice in sinful lifestyle.

Kind of adds new meaning to the terms “tight end” and “wide receiver,” doesn’t it?
