MALELANE, South Africa, April 19 (Reuters) - Reclaiming land seized during white minority rule was a dream come true for black families in the South African farming town of Malelane.
But the community had no farming experience, equipment, money or market access. In search of a plan for its 3,300 hectares (8,150 acres) of sugarcane land, it agreed a joint venture with the whites who had owned the land before.
Land reform is a sensitive issue in South Africa, where some politicians are demanding a forced redistribution of white-owned farms along the lines of neighbouring Zimbabwe and twice as many white farmers are murdered as other South Africans.
The post-apartheid African National Congress (ANC) government's policy is to buy land seized by whites, if they want to sell, and return it to blacks who claim it.
But it has fallen far short of its targets, and many of those who do get land back find it hard to compete in a highly developed sector; some have sold the land back to the previous white owners after struggling to make it productive.

Zimbabwe used to be a very productive agricultural country. They used to feed themselves and export many products to other countries.
With their policy of seizing land and evicting/killing white farmers, Zimbabwe is a basket case, unable to feed their own people in spite of having such productive farmland.
I know we are supposed to be liberal and politically correct. But, I will violate such standards, and say that it’s obvious that these black “farmers” don’t know what the hell they are doing, when given this “reclaimed” farmland.
There used to be folks who posted diaries like this one(http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1068876/posts), from a very, very stupid liberal woman who welcomed and championed the downfall of Rhodesia then lived to “weep” for what they had sown, but even then she refuses to accept responsibility for her and her husbands demented philosophical positions.
South Africa should know better, they all have their “When-We” stories of immigrants from Zimbabwe living in S.A. now.
You would think they would learn to start a tractor or put a seed in the ground before murdering or evicting the man who had that knowledge. There is no cure for stupid.

Tribalism fits poorly with collectivism, but Africans keep on trying.

Dumped on top of tribalism is communism, both in Zimbabwe (Rhodesia) under Marxist murderer Mugabe and under the ANC/CPSA in South Africa. Most of the leaders of the African National Congress were members of the Soviet-directed Communist Party of South Africa (SACP), once led by KGB operatives Joe Slovo and his wife Ruth Furst, among others (Johnny Makitini appeared to be a Soviet operative, Jacob Zuma, one named Oliver, and many others).
What they have done is to illegally seize land for “redistribution” of the wealth (where have we heard that recently?), seize companies, murder white farmers and heads of large corporations, and put in totally incompetent but ideologically psychopathic communists to ruin things.
South Africa exists today almost completely on the existing mining operations, plus some fishing and some agriculture (but the latter is being slowly eroded by the murders of white farm owners and the failure to put in educated black marxists or black farmers in general who are educated/experienced enough to run a complex operation today).
We saw the destruction of the farming systems in Zimbabwe and now the marxists in South Africa are copying that program but at a slower pace.
Tribalism has largely been squashed (on the surface), so the Masai, some Zulu, and other large ethnic tribes are coming under the red hand of the SACP/ANC. Whether they will fall completely under red control is a key question which could determine the future faith of South Africa.
Right now the future of South Africa looks grim unless a new, pro-freedom party of whites and blacks arises to confront and destroy the ANC/SACP.
Whatever happens in the future, it isn’t going to be pretty, or bloodless.
Stupidity will be painful as it should. Let’em starve.

Buy a ticket to Mexico City, come across the Rio Grande and "live in the shadows" for a while, collect welfare, send your kids to school for free.

When South Africa descends into civil war (which will happen very, very soon), it will be a horror.
What a lot of folks DON’T realize is that Nelson Mandela wasn’t fighting for the civil rights of blacks, he was fighting for communism, or more accurately, communism that only benefited the Xhosan tribe, much to the chagrin of the other tribes.
It’s bizarre how it all worked out. The Xhosa tribe only makes up 18% of South Africa’s population.....and yet they have a stranglehold on the entire country.
Feels like that’s been tried in SA before....

Dark Continent” seem determined to revert to the savage primitivism in which they were mired prior to the imposition of European based social structure.
The good news is hunting will improve after the human population collapses from the consequences of African societal choices.
