On the night of the Benghazi terror attack, special operations put out multiple calls for all available military and other assets to be moved into position to help -- but the State Department and White House never gave the military permission to cross into Libya, sources told Fox News.
The disconnect was one example of what sources described as a communication breakdown that left those on the ground without outside help.
"When you are on the ground, you depend on each other -- we're gonna get through this situation. But when you look up and then nothing outside of the stratosphere is coming to help you or rescue you, that's a bad feeling," one source said.
Multiple sources spoke to Fox News about what they described as a lack of action in Benghazi on Sept. 11 last year, when four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, were killed.

Yes, and why did special force member “light up” site for a “hit” which resulted in his location being exposed, causing him to lose his life, if he didn’t think he had back up in the area?????
Hmmmmm .... where have we heard this before?
..operators never “paint” a target without expecting a result. Maybe a drone he knew was in the area....

Exactly.
big pants Berger had Obama Bin Laden in the cross hairs as Clinton was zipping up.
...there was no breakdown, there was a fundamental dereliction of duty by the commander in hiding while he went to bed as people died. There was NO communication problem...the request was sent, the reply never came
The muslem in charge determined that the muslem terrorist where more important than the Americans. End of story.
The buck stops at Obama's desk. No one else is even in the game for this, so he would have been asked and he clearly said "No".
This all happened a long time ago besides, what difference does it make? (add sarcasm tag if you really think it’s needed)
"Ambassador Stevens, you're dead to me." - Barack HUSSEIN 0bambi
Obama refused to give the military permission to cross borders and help. It is called “Cross Border Authority” and only the president has it. No one else can give such orders. Obama went to bed!
MacArthur was denied permission to go into China in the Korean war. Truman fired him. Who was right? Would a war with China be in our long term interests? Civilians control military is our standard.
Give the guy a break. He had a Las Vegas fundraiser to go to.

Leon Panetta saying you don’t send forces into harm’s way until you’re absolutely sure what’s happening is like a chief of police saying he won’t send police to the scene of a crime until he know’s how many criminals are there.
Bullsh!t.
The closest people saddle-up and go! They can learn on the way what to expect. (It will take 3-4 hours to fly there.) That’s what they’re for! Those men had to beat-out others for the privilege of having the job. They’ve trained for years to do it!
I remember reading that... that “stand down” of area forces.
This, and the prior refusals for additional security for the Benghazi site.
And, of course, the hiring of the “17 Martyrs Brigade” to provide on-site security.
AND, OF COURSE... having our ambassador in a terrorist hotbed at an unguarded consulate on the anniversary of 9/11, instead of the relative safety of the AmEmb in Tripoli!!
This administration wanted Stevens and others dead. Of that I have NO doubt.
