Weird that some people saw him as the "grassroots conservative" choice. I guess by Massachusetts standards he's conservative, but Gomez' positions are to the left of both Scott Brown and Michael Sullivan.
I didn't know Jack E. Robinson is a big gay marriage guy now. He probably "evolved" on the issue as well, I remember when he ran against Ted Kennedy about 10 years ago, and he sounded fairly decent back then ("whatever Ted Kennedy is for, I'm against")
I'd probably still cast a protest vote, if there's anyone at least semi-decent on the ballot against Markey and Gomez.
