There have two other people to have received the death penalty after McVeigh.
It is not “common sense” even to consider sparing the death penalty unless he really does possess terror info that can save lives, and that can be obtained in no other way.
BUT, this contradicts the “official” story from the admin. and trumpeted by the MSM, that the brothers were “self-radicalized” and not part of any larger cell or network.
So, yes, many more than two !! are needed. This reported negotiation over the death penalty gives the lie to what the public has been told about the case!!!!!!
(only other explanation is that soft headed libs want to spare his life even though he cannot provide any important info for intel agencies)
I’ve been thinking about this for a while. The reality is the radical Obama/Holder regime is not going to execute any prisoners, even this one. Given a chance those people would repeal the death penalty, which they actually tried to do in Colorado. We should extract all the intel we can and find out about any accomplices. At least we would get something out of the deal.

He needs to go somewhere and be in the general population so that the other prisoners get to spend time with him. Pass him around as barter for cigarettes and to pay off prison debts.

No one thought the Clinton regime would execute McVeigh either.
The difference being, McVeigh DID know things, and some of them would have been very embarrassing to the clintoon administration (and actually to the Bush I administration as well.)
Of course if the terrorist was non-Muslim with a last name like “McVeigh,” Obama and Holder would fry him.
Not true at all, in fact they couldn't get him dead fast enough. Clintoon and his minions perfectly characterized McVeigh as the prototypical white, Christian, gun owner. And they wanted him dead before the truth came to light.

Sure, but your statement points to the utter irrationality of how govt and media have been conducting this case:
(1) do NOT assert and act upon what could not possibly be known so quickly, the claim that there was no larger cell or plot or network than the two brothers,
and in particular,
(2) do not Mirandize the perp and stop him from talking early on, when (reportedly) the FBI was having useful questioning with him.
A lot of people, even those who should know better here at FR, conflated the issue of “Miranda rights” regarding protections against self-incrimination in civilian courts with the quite separate pursuit of counter-terrorism info.
He should be treated as an enemy combatant, but even if we are forced by the dictatorship of lawyers to allow him into a civilian criminal context, the “public safety” exception should have been used to the max. and not thrown away so early.
People confuse the protection against self-incrimination (Miranda) with the quite separate issue of gathering info for counter-terrorism operations against OTHER potential perps (not this one who has to be Mirandized at some point if he is to be prosecuted in civilian courts).
