Obama at 100 days presser: 'Maybe I should just pack up and go home' By Justin Sink - 04/30/13 11:22 AM ET
President Obama sarcastically dismissed concerns over his struggles to pass key components of his second term agenda at a White House press conference Tuesday.
"Maybe I should just pack up and go home," Obama said. "Golly."
The president acknowledged that he had struggled to pass a bill to repeal the sequester or implement new gun controls, but said he was "actually confident there are a range of things that we're going to be able to get done."
He said a bipartisan bill on comprehensive immigration reform was progressing, and that a recent deal to prevent furloughs of air traffic controllers was evidence that Congress would be willing to negotiate.
"Rumors of my demise might be a little exaggerated at this point," Obama said.
The president went on to say he rejected the idea that his "job is to somehow get them to behave," referring to lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
"That's their job," Obama said. "Members of Congress are elected in order to do what's right for their constituencies and the American people."
But Obama said he did see signs for optimism. He said recent dinners with groups of Republican senators seemed to give efforts to reach a budget agreement genuine momentum.
"I've had some good conversations with Republican senators so far," Obama said. "Those conversations are continuing. I think there's a genuine desire on their behalf to move past Washington dysfunction."
But Obama said the responsibility for striking a deal ultimately sat not with the White House, but with congressional Republicans.
"There are common sense solutions to our problems right now. I cannot force Republicans to embrace those solutions," Obama said.
I will personally buy the CS and his fat butt wife a one way ticket back to Chicago, if he would leave ASAP.
‘Maybe I should just pack up and go home’
I guess he does have ONE talent... he’s a mind reader!! :)

If the ticket to Kenya is under 2400.00 i’v got it in my desk and will donate it in a heartbeat!!
Excellent idea! America would be better off with no president than this one.
Pack up and go home? I’ll buy you a ticket. Just where would “home” be?
