Reporters with all the local media had trouble describing what happened over the weekend when 40,000 black people descended on Virginia Beach for a party.
Their audiences, however, did not.
Daniel Johnson was one of dozens of people who had no trouble talking about the lawbreakers and the widespread chaos, danger, thefts, violence and lawlessness they brought to Virginia Beach as part of College Beach Week 2013; a time when black students could “blow off some steam” before final exams.
“Because it was a group of young black college people everyone is scared to say anything for fear of being called a racist,” he said in a post to a Virginian-Pilot news story. “It is what it is – these people come to the Beach and do everything in there [sic] power to intimidate the local and visiting White people at the Beach – rude – disrespectful – dirty and violent – They come here and treat our beach like a toilet On Saturday afternoon I went to the Harris Teeter and a LARGE group of young black visitors were in the parking lot drinking and playing loud music – intimidating locals – I called the police and even though 2 cop cars drove by nothing was done!”

Being retired Navy, Dam Neck is better. I can leave my things on the beach while I go in the water and they’ll be there when I come back, and I can have a beer on the beach if I want.

Same thing happened in Atlanta. They ran MARTA from downtown to the burbs and the next thing you know you have black gangs from the inner city smashing and looting the malls.
They used to come here to Atlanta. It was called Freaknick and it was a nightmare. It was so bad our black mayor Bill Campbell cracked down to the point it was just no darn fun anymore and they migrated down to Fl. I guess now they have migrated to VA. VA has my condolences. I know blacks that don’t fit the mold either. However while not 100% the same, race and culture are far from being mutually exclusive.

You are right . It is the glamorizing of the urban culture- that is the problem. I left a church, I had attended and served at for years- because the youth group turned into a “willowcreek style” urbanization and rap culture for middle schoolers. It was just filthy and people are hypnotized by it. Upper middle class white kids- throwing gang signs at church!
Ought to be a website warning of where large amounts of young black people are going to congregate. Its basically commons sense to at least know where the “keeping it real” crowd is taking their entitlement attitudes. I wouldn’t send my daughter to Sturgis or Freaknik.

Our local mega mall became a haven for black gangbang types, and the stores started catering to black kids (which is a limited demographic regardless what MTV says) and TPTB got together changed the stores to white kid fashion and soccer momatopia type stores to go along with increased security and it had a bit of a revival. When it comes to money then PC can take a hit sometimes.
I got a mint M39 a few years back for next to nothing. The dealer got it at an auction and had no idea what it was. He priced it as a 91/30. With the right ammo it shoots tighter groups than my buddy's National Match M1A. Now I need an M28.
They are astounding rifles with great triggers, I have two hex receivers one from 1894, and they are both superb weapons. The Finns took a peasant’s arm and made it into a fine robust battle rifle that the snobs in this country mistakenly malign. At the range yesterday the guy next to me had a M-44 and it shot 10” off till I mentioned deploy the bayonet, he thought I was a genius when it shot to point of aim.

Almost all M39s have hex recievers. If you ever see a round one they are worth $$$$. Mine has a '42 Valmet barrel on an 1896 Ishzevsk hex receiver. I think the days of anti-Mosin snobbery are over. The last gun show I attended I must have met fifty guys searching for Mosins. They are awesome.
