BURLINGTON, Vt., April 29, 2013 The George W. Bush Presidential Library is now living history. The Southern Methodist University campus will house some of the most important documents spanning one of the most consequential periods in American history.
Mr. Bush, affably known by nicknames 43, Dubya, and The Dub, entered office after a disputed election. His first few months saw him ram through supply-side tax cuts that turned around a slowing economy he inherited from his predecessor. Despite a NASDAQ collapse of over 90 percent, Bush did not spend one minute complaining about his circumstances or blaming anybody else. He rolled up his sleeves and went to work. His promise upon taking office was to restore honor and dignity to the White House. After eight years of endless scandals during the prior administration, he did exactly that.
On September 11, 2001, radical Islamists from al Qaeda hijacked American airplanes and flew them into the two World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon. A fourth plane destined for the White House was diverted when brave passengers took the plane back. United 93 would crash in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. New York was ground zero of a war America never asked or. Yet after almost four decades of presidents unwilling or unable to take the fight overseas, President George W. Bush launched a Global War on Terror.
He left office with toxic poll numbers, but has seen a revival as Americans come to appreciate and respect the hard choices he made during the toughest of times.
The left always hated him, felt he stole the 2000 election, and never gave him the decency and respect that an American leader deserves. Yet an honest look...

As long as the United States is strong and soverign they cannot implement the NWO. Obama is doing his best to see that it’s done.
Yeah when a President appoints losers (Chertoff, Brownie, every Treasury Secretary he had) it’s never his fault. He was FOOLED. Fooled into appointing 3 Keynesian bastards to the Treasury. Fooled into picking cronies like Brownie for positions they were unqualified for.
Roberts I’ll give him a break because almost no one saw that coming, but the cabinet and under cabinet? What a joke. But totally not his fault. Just like O, he had NO IDEA that Timmy Geitner was a tax cheat.
So 8 years and Alito is the only positive legacy (and a “free” Iraq, not that those ingrates deserve it, they went an elected Shia Islamists). That’s just painful. All kidding aside, I can’t fathom he still has his apologists. Trying to prop him up now is politically speaking, very foolish. His best forgotten, except as a lesson of what happens when you elect a RINO.
Horse manure."
You're right. He's that too.
May I butt in ?
" Listen, I'm a politician which means I'm a cheat and a liar, and when I'm not kissing babies I'm stealing their lollipops. But it also means I keep my options open. "
Who “fooled” Bush? Strawman much?
There is a whole tradition of fine political leaders who are also painters.
What gets me the most about this thread is the 20-20 hindsight. Comes with the territory, I know.
Maybe yours, but not mine.
I miss President Bush..I like him.
We eat our own here.
As President, there were many ways to ensure that a domestic enemy is not elected to the highest office in the land. Dozens of ways. Bush did NONE of them. This means he is part of the act.
Exactly. They’ll do what they have to do to implement the New World Order.
This thread is going to 1,000 and beyond.
Even numbered posts: I HEART BUSH!
Odd numbered posts: I DISS BUSH AND THE HORSE HE CAME ON!
In fact, tens of millions of illegals did not enter during his 8 years...during war time...That's all conservative, right wing vigilante propaganda..
It didn't happen...There are only 11 million illegals in country...Same as it was 13 years ago...
You bet!
I'd start by telling the Saudis: cease all religious funding outside of your country today, or there will be no tomorrow for you. That would be a silly, empty threat today, but not right after 9/11.
But more than that, people in the Middle East respect winners. They want to align themselves with winners. The stalemate in Afghanistan, the escape of Bin Laden, etc., made the USA look weak, not like a winner.
Then came the optional war with Iraq (no, that war did not have to be fought just at that time). Troops that should have been in Afghanistan were instead in Iraq.
The Iraqi war also weakened the cohesion of the West. The entire West, Russia included, should have presented one strong, united front against radical islam. Stand up against radical islam, loud and clear. Force the closing of the radical mosques in America, in Europe, etc. After 9/11, it could have been done!
But Iraq distracted everyone, including Bush. And too many Westerners questioned the need for that war. The USA began to be seen by many as an aggressor, not as a victim looking for justice.
Run out of ammo ?
I think 1rudeboy is correct. Most people do not understand the vagueries of politics.
Now that is a 'valid' criticism.
It seems every 3 days or so, some lumberhead announces what a great president they think bush was...lol
Whatever spins their spokes...
You take over, and run this up to 1k...
Ah, but everyone knows a perfect politician. In their mind.
I also miss Barney. :)
May I retort ?
(somebody smart said this, I just copied it)
"Yep, they do as they are told.....and warned. The globalist New World Orders PTB do not fool around. There is no give and take. There is no argument. You play ball their way or you are out....all the way out."
