It looked like the backlash was starting even before the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing were identified as Muslim.
Hours after the explosions, a Bangladeshi man told police he was dubbed an Arab and beaten in New York. A veiled Muslim woman in a city near Boston said she was struck in the shoulder and called a terrorist. When the public learned days later that the FBI was pursuing two Muslim men of Chechen descent, American Muslims feared the worst.
But the worst didnt happen.
Muslim civil rights leaders say the anti-Islam reaction has been more muted this time than after other attacks since Sept. 11, which had sparked outbursts of vandalism, harassment and violence. Ibrahim Hooper of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, which monitors bias and hate crimes against Muslims, said his organization has seen no uptick in reports of harassment, assaults or damage to mosques since the April 15 bombings. Leaders noted a larger, broader chorus of Americans warning against placing collective blame.

They lie.
Good thing they weren’t Tea Partiers.
ICE needs to move in and deport those on expired visas, pronto. They won’t though. Why do we keep letting in the enemy?
Stupid ragheads get out of the USA. Hows that.

Democrats want votes????
Nobody, and especially not Congress, is listening.
she as struck on the shoulder, , HUH meaning she was walking and someone bumper into her by accident.
BeverlyIslamicBilly.
What “backlash”?
Plenty of online Koran translations that can verify all of that too.
(a comment about “anti-Muslim backlash” found elsewhere.)
Every time there is a jihad terror attack or foiled plot, the mainstream media fills up with stories about Muslims worrying about a backlash.
The backlash never materializes.
In reality, the steady drumbeat of false stories about (alleged) fears of backlash are maliciously designed to deflect attention away from jihad attacks and create false sympathy for the attackers.
David J. Rusin noted in National Review last January, a detailed analysis of FBI statistics covering ten full calendar years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks reveals that, on a per capita basis, American Muslims, contrary to spin, have been subjected to hate crimes less often than other prominent minorities.
From 2002 to 2011, Muslims are estimated to have suffered hate crimes at a frequency of 6.0 incidents per 100,000 per year 10 percent lower than blacks (6.7), 48 percent lower than homosexuals and bisexuals (11.5), and 59 percent lower than Jews (14.8). Americans should keep these numbers in mind whenever Islamists attempt to silence critics by falsely invoking (alleged) Muslim victimhood.
American academics have a duty to stop uncritically parroting the factually discredited propaganda taqiyya that offers aid and comfort to Islamo-supremacists.
In the meantime Obama has CAIR come over for a circle jerk.
mosques should burn.
We’re treating muzzies better than we treated the Brits in the 1760’s.
The reaction of the American people was very restrained after 911, practically non-existent after this most recent in a long line of small-scale terrorist attacks. I cannot say the same for Muslim countries. In those countries, if someone draws a cartoon they don’t like, broad swaths of the population want to behead the cartoonist. Muslims must fix themselves before they point their fingers at anyone else.
