[history]
Police in Tacoma could soon be in real trouble over pot.
The department could be found in contempt if they continue to refuse to return a small amount of marijuana seized from a man after a traffic stop. Municipal Court Judge Jack Emery repeated an order to police Thursday to return the drug to Joseph L. Robertson within seven days or they could be found in contempt.

Amazing how the federal govt chooses to enforce certain laws but ignore others.

It would be unfortunate if the evidence has gone up in smoke, for some reason
To: HangnJudge
That is very likely the case.

How do they test for this drug? If it stays in your system for 30 days, and the user hasn't used it for 25 days, is he still under the influence?
There's a lot of issues with this. And aren't the baby boomers, the idiots who popularized this whole thing, aren't they (the ones who use the drug) suffering from brain and personality disorders because of the drug?

Marijuana isn't a powerful enough drug to cause brain and personality dysfunction all by itself. I would posit that substantial brain or personality damage due to drug use is caused by much heavier drugs such as pharmaceuticals (both legal and illegal).
I would agree that long term use of marijuana can slow a person down, and perhaps dull their cognitive abilities, but I've never observed any lasting damage among those who use it regularly. I do know a few.

Amazing how the federal govt chooses to enforce certain laws but ignore others. How is this relevant to the actions of Tacoma police or a municipal court judge?

Because the federal govt is refusing to enforce federal drug laws in some states while enforcing them in others.

That doesn't answer the question. This article has zip to do with the federal government.
