President Obama plans to sign legislation eliminating FAA furloughs causing flight delays, but the administration is firmly against piecemeal fixes to other impacts of sequester cuts, press secretary Jay Carney said Friday.
"This is a one-off case, if you will," he said, adding "the sequester itself cannot be finessed. It is having negative consequences around the country."
Carney argued the FAA fix, which was passed by Congress Friday, was doable because the funds were available to head off the need for FAA furloughs.

Carney is a political douchbag. There have been many WH press people that I could barely stomach to listen to including some Republicans but this guy gets the golden finger.

He is a child, and like a child, when he doesn’t get his way he throws a tantrum. That’s what the FAA thing is about. Same with the White House tours.

Obama threatens Congress not to fight back at his denying basic services because he is throwing a temper tantrum by closing everything in a childish effort to get everyone to want to raise taxes.

Why would reductions in next year's budget cause furlows of current staff?
I mean isn't this a captain obvious question? Why does nobody ask it?

ahahah - the Senate voted 100 to 0 to end the inane sequestration of the FAA - which we all know was nothing more than owebummers poiltical ploy to try and fool people into blaming the GOP for the mess.
It backfired. The FAA sued AND not ONE democrat backed him up.
He’s learning what the term ‘lame duck’ means. I can hear him now: “How DARE they!” - Poor little narcissist.

As I understand, the 5% reduction stays in place but the agency will be allowed to find the savings elsewhere. I agree as long as the House monitors it and makes sure they don’t play the Obama slight of hand game.
The whole government should be allowed to do the same, but with a watchdog in place. Time to play hardball!!
