Previewing the opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Library on Thursday, rather than positively reflect on the legacy of the Bush presidency, MSNBC unsurprisingly chose to mock and minimize his eight years in office. During The Daily Rundown, host Chuck Todd introduced a segment on the former president with a spew of Bush “gaffes." He then mocked, "I miss this part of Bush because Obama never does this stuff."
After playing the clips, Todd spun, "Some of the lighter moments there from Bush's time in office. President Obama's always a little more careful. President Bush would dip into some of those things." Todd has gone so far as to excuse gaffes made by President Obama, blaming his speechwriter for the errors. [See video after jump. MP3 audio here.]
Todd might have this skewed view of presidential history, given that MSNBC virtually ignores the numerous gaffes throughout President Obama’s career, but will mock gaffes made by Republican politicians on a regular basis. Unfortunately, Todd couldn’t stop there with his Bush criticism, instead asking his panel about the legacy of “polarizingly [sic] unpopular presidents” like Bush, “lead to the other party winning a lot of presidential elections in a row.”
Speaking to Politico’s Jonathan Martin, Todd decided to ask, “Will Bush be to blame again if somehow Democrats win in '16?” Todd’s softball question enabled Martin to not only smear President Bush, but the entire Republican Party:
I think he will take a share of the blame. But I think you will see more -- more blame cast on a party that is resistant to modernizing. On issues like immigration. Other cultural matters. But the real issue, because there's so much talk about immigration and gay marriage. The central problem to me for Republicans is the economic issue.
Apparently Todd and Martin couldn’t resist using the Democratic talking point of blaming President Bush for the country’s problems, and clearly think that whoever the Democratic candidate is in 2016, should run against President Bush.
As if the anti-GOP sentiment on MSNBC didn’t stop there, in the next segment Todd brought in fellow MSNBCer, Chris, "thrill up my leg" Matthews, to discuss 2016, mainly Hillary Clinton. After talking about former First Lady Barbara Bush saying she hopes her son Jeb Bush chooses not to run for president in 2016, Matthews then went into Hillary cheerleading mode:
This really looks like a Hillary year coming up, and it really feels like it. Women my age have been waiting to vote for women for all these years. Hillary’s a notch or two as you know to the right of Obama.
Matthews didn’t stop there, instead choosing to double down on his desires to see Ms. Clinton run for president:
Everybody knows a lot about her. They know the whole story, and I think that she's a notch or two, do you think, to the right of the president, and very brilliant. Always perfectly positioned to the sweet spot there.

Really Chuckles? Obama never does this stuff?? Or is it you just chose to ignore it when he does? Let me educate you pinhead:
Top 10 Obama Gaffes:
1. How many states? Vice President Dan Quayle was virtually laughed out of Washington for misspelling potato back in 1992, yet Barack Obama made a more elementary flub when, during the 2008 campaign, he said: “I’ve now been in 57 states-I think one left to go.”
2. Hero soldier mix-up: While commending troops at Fort Drum, N.Y., for their completed deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan, President Obama said, “A comrade of yours, Jared Monti, was the first person who I was able to award the Medal of Honor to who actually came back and wasn’t receiving it posthumously.” Wrong hero. Sgt. 1st Class Jared Monti was killed in action, another soldier, Staff Sgt. Sal Giunta, was the first living recipient of the Medal of Honor that fought in Afghanistan.
3. What year is it? During a trip to London’s Westminster Abbey, President Obama signed the guest book and dated it 24 May 2008. Oops. It was 2011. (Maybe he was wistfully dreaming about his 2008 election campaign at the time.)
4. Look at the map: Not only does Obama not know how many states there are, he also doesn’t know where they are. During the 2008 primary campaign, he explained why he was trailing Hillary Clinton in Kentucky: “Sen. Clinton, I think, is much better known, coming from a nearby state of Arkansas. So it’s not surprising that she would have an advantage in some of those states in the middle.” Obama’s home state of Illinois, and not Arkansas, shares a border with Kentucky.
5. What language is that? In April 2009, on one of his many foreign trips, President Obama mused, “I don’t know what the term is in Austrian” for “wheeling and dealing.” Oops, Mr. President. There is no Austrian language.
6. Twister casualties: After a devastating tornado hit Kansas, Obama discussed the tragedy without help from a teleprompter, saying, ”In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died-an entire town destroyed.” He was only off by 9,988 as the twister killed 12 people.
7. How old is Malia? The President last month thought he was so clever, unfavorably comparing Republican procrastination on the debt limit to his daughters finishing their homework early. In his remarks, Obama made a reference to daughter Malia, saying she was 13 years old, when at the time she was 12. Imagine the press reaction if Michele Bachmann made a misstatement about any of her five children or 23 foster kids.
8. Special Olympics insensitivity: The President called and apologized to the head of the Special Olympics, after making this insensitive comment following a game of bowling: “No, no. I have been practicing. … I bowled a 129. It’s like-it was like Special Olympics, or something.” Maybe he should have also apologized to bowlers for his feeble effort.
9. Faith confusion: No wonder so many Americans are unsure of the President’s faith, as he seems to be confused himself. During the 2008 campaign, during an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Obama said, “What I was suggesting-you’re absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith,” before Stephanopoulos jumped in to help, saying ”your Christian faith.”
10. Health care inefficiencies: During the health care debate, President Obama explained all the benefits of ObamaCare, saying, “The reforms we seek would bring greater competition, choice, savings and inefficiencies to our health care system.” Mr. President, we already have enough inefficiency in health care and, yes, your “reforms” will only make it worse.
I'd also add Hawaii's in Asia, asthmatics use breathalizers, Israel if a good friend of Israel, "Fallen heroes -- and I see many of them in the audience here today, "How's it going Sunshine?" - while campaigning in Sunrise, Florida among several instances of Obama not knowing the name of the town he was in, "I'm here with the Girardo family here in St. Louis." He is a vile human and a symbol for what is wrong with the American media.

If ever someone needed a Columbian Neck Tie, it is that jerk.
Judging by their ratings, more people know of Todd’s comments from this posting than actually saw it on MSNBC.
Obama screws up a lot but this is not one of them. He didn't say "bordering state" he said "nearby". Southern Illinois is 60 -70 miles from north western Arkansas.

#1 was a media lie. Qualye didn’t misspell potato, he just pointed out the flash card USED BY THE SCHOOl had “potatoe” on it by saying, “isn’t there an ‘e’?” and turned it around to show all.
It is just like the media lie that Bush 41 didn’t know what a grocery scanner was. He was being shown an advanced scanner prototype that could scan every item in the cart at the same time. They never perfected it for grocery stores.

You missed the point. He was asked why she was doing better in KY than him. His answer was to point out how close AR is to KY... yet IL shares a border with KY and AR doesn't.
