Former Rep. Todd Akin said he regrets the comments he made about “legitimate rape” which derailed his Missouri bid for U.S. Senate last year.
In an interview with KDSK-TV on Thursday, the 65-year-old was asked whether he would take back the controversial comments. “Of course I would,” the former congressman replied. “I’ve relived them too many times. But that is not reality.” …

I don’t remember which pundit wrote it, but he (or she) said something along the lines of: “Republicans have been taking ‘gotcha’ questions about abortion from the media for decades. And he flubbed it.”
Lets see how this one plays out.

All he had to do was change to a democrat, and all would be forgiven. Especially if he became pro-abortion.
Everyone knows what he meant by the comment but PravdABDNC is always looking to twist it into the worst possible meaning. Just like there is no outrage about the abortion butcher trial.

If all the so-called conservatives, including many on FR, hadn’t gathered around and started kicking him when he was down, tripped up by the lying liberal media, this never would have happened.
Which is worse, a guy who votes conservatively almost all the time and is morally straight and honest, but who makes a single verbal gaffe, or the other guy who promises to kill as many babies as possible if you elect him?
Akin was destroyed by Rove and the weak-kneed conservatives who listened to him whining, not just by the liberal media.

Hope you feel like you made a point.
Yet Romney, who has years of comments and LAWS that put this guy to shame got a pass and lotsa conservative votes. And STILL gets a pass dispite being what he is.
The selective outrage/situational ethics on display is nauseating. Go figure.
This one is not on Rove. He merely observed that Akin self-detonated like a jihadist.
Maybe all the Hispanic voters they're gonna get after amnesty goes through will change that.
