I’m not an expert in this field, but isn’t the annual flu vaccine for the flu virus? I don’t know how quickly HIV mutates, so I don’t know the practicality of a vaccination. Not a big issue to me, I’m old, married, and I’d put my risk at near zero.

This whole fiasco sounds like an exorbitant research cost (largely footed by taxpayers) for a disease that is wholly avoidable, and the money would be better spent on researching the sexual life of the pill bug.
Although there are innocent victims of this disease and I feel sorry for them, most infected people bring it on themselves.
My guess is that it’s nature’s way of culling the herd...

*Many question if HIV exists at all. (HIV tests only test for antibodies. They are unable to test for HIV itself).
*Some believe HIV probably exists but that it doesn’t cause AIDS.
*Some believe HIV is a harmless retrovirus and that the highly toxic aids drugs, along with other co-factors, such as overuse of antibiotics, recreational drug use, other illnesses,etc are what cause people to die of so called ‘AIDS’.

There is only one way to avoid HIV. Sit on your @$$ and keep your mouth shut.
We have literally dozens of drugs to treat HIV so that those infected can spend years dying (and spreading the disease). It’s a shame those “at risk” can’t think of a wa of avoiding infection, since it is so hard to vaccinate against or to cure once they are infected. CDC might be able to come up with some options, but they could never be published - to publish recommendations that interfere with lifestyle choices would be hate speech.
I suspect it will get much, much worse unless and until we get back with the Plan.
