On Monday, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said that including a "path to citizenship" for illegal immigrants in any comprehensive immigration bill would jeopardize the likelihood of the legislation passing. I think if instead the bill includes elements that are deeply divisive--and I would note that I dont think there is any issue in this entire debate that is more divisive than a path to citizenship for those who are here illegally--in my view, any bill that insists upon that jeopardizes the likelihood of passing any immigration reform bill, Cruz said at the Senate Judiciary Committee's hearing, according to CNS News. The conservative senator from Texas said Americans should "all be champions of legal immigrants making the system work" and celebrate legal immigrants. He said the bill should focus on improving legal immigration instead of giving a pathway to citizenship to illegal immigrants. The Gang of Eight's proposed immigration bill includes an eventual path to citizenship for the country's current illegal immigrants. Sens. John McCain (R-AZ), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and Jeff Flake (R-AZ) are Republicans that make up the Gang of Eight, along with Sens. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Michael Bennet (D-CO), and Bob Menendez (D-NJ). Cruz said he hoped the "reform legislation will not be held hostage to an issue that is deeply, deeply divisive, namely a pathway to citizenship." He said it was his hope that Congress could pass a bipartisan bill addressing areas of common agreement like "securing the border, improving legal immigration, improving agricultural workers to ensure that we have workers who are here out of the shadows, able to work legally." "In my view, thats how we get something done--we focus on areas of agreement, not on areas of disagreement, and

Cruz is who we wanted Marcie Rubio to be.
Isn’t is cringingly horrible what Marco Rubio turned out to be after we wanted him to replace Crist? I mean, He’s Getting FAT. He thinks he’s so pretty, like Ricky Ricardo. He represents...Mamacita? What a cruel letdown and dissappointment. I think Lindsey Graham and McCain are laughing at Wonder Cuban Sandwich.

Thanks SoConPubbie.
Rubio’ s still rock solid on almost e Rey other issue important to us. I am not willing to completely abandon him. He is, in fact, embarrassing himself on this issue....badly.
I don’t think these criminal aliens should EVER be allowed to vote. PERIOD!
Never, ever any government benefits, either.
Rand disappointed me for the last time...
I don’t care if Cruz isn’t eligible, neither is the current resident, Cruz 2016..... Until he disappointing me too,...
Cruz and Sessions for pres. & VP! In either order.
He reminds me more of Tony Montana LOL. Done with Rubio! GOP is scared to death of the Latino vote. Instead of working with legal immigrants they are bottom feeding!
Yet, every poll I've seen of legal Hispanics has them dead-set against amnesty by a 2-to-1 margin.
Stupid party!!! Almost every legal Latinio tells me they don’t want illegals taking their jobs!!
I'm willing to completely abandon him! If this Amnesty Bill goes through, brought to you by the “Gang of Eight”, the Democrats will be in power forever! Apparently you do not understand this concept!
Did you not hear Rubio being interviewed by Rush last week? Rubio said early on that this POS immigration bill would have to have border security as its first provision before he would sign onto it. Well guess what, IT DOESN'T! And good old Marco Rubio is still going to sign onto it!
This is one issue we cannot be wrong on, and Rubio is wrong on it. I could give a rats a$$ where else we agree. He's basically bending over and giving the Dems exactly what they want, Democrats in power forever. Rush was calling him out on this, and Rubio bull sh*tted his way through the entirety of Rush's interview!
I'm sure Rubio appreciates your support...so do the Dems! Please F-ing wake up!
It’s worse than that. Cruz is for ‘out of the shadows’ incremental amnesty.
All of our new tea party heroes are frauds on some level.
Of course what Cruz is advocating is harmful. He’s looking to legalize tens of millions of illegals. That’s bad and hugely expensive for our country and it will inevitably end up with them becoming citizens and registered Democrat voters.
It’s clear: no Texas pol dares oppose what is essentially the Hispanicization of the country.
Cruz is just looking to put a little mayonnaise on what is still a turd sandwich.
Why won’t your legal Latino friends vote for Republicans?
Cruz is an American. He’s smart and he’s a lawyer. He can talk and chew gum at the same time. He’s loyal to Texas and America.
Rubio is a citizen of the world, aka, a globalist. That is why the Bushes put him up when voters rejected fancy pants Charlie. I have seen plenty of Rino from Rubio.
You probably already know this but some on FR might not understand the motive behind the Bushes and other globalists push to legalize illegals after purposfully keeping the borders unprotected.
They want to create a new governing body known as the North American Union with Mexico, Canada and the US ;(like the EU, ewwwww!). They want for people to be North American citizens and erase the Natonal terrority boundries. They want to lay the same governance, body of laws and rights on all three nations and the constitution is getting in the way of that.
The foreigners they want to give amnesty to are not loyal to the US nor the constitution. They will fall for the globalist lies.
