A West Virginia teen arrested and accused of nearly inciting a riot after a confrontation with a teacher over his National Rifle Association t-shirt has inspired dozens of students across his county to wear similar apparel in solidarity.
Jared Marcum, 14, had a confrontation Thursday with a Logan Middle School teacher over his NRA t-shirt, which bears the organization's logo, along with an image of a hunting rifle and the phrase, "Protect your right."

No. This would be a better country if more people publicly showed solidarity with those who are skapegoated for their conservative beliefs.
” Any individual acting as an agent of the state and abusing their authority needs to be personally, individually, civilly accountable for their actions.”
Correct.
Fire the teacher. Problem solved, and lesson taught to other would-be Nazis.
By “No”, I meant to agree with you that you are never too old, or young, etc. As I re-read my message I see that it looks belligerent and as though I am disagreeing with you, which is not the case.
A commenter on that site raised a good point. Why does the article name the 14 year old boy but does not name the adult teacher? Usually in these situations, its reversed even if the press knows the name of the juvenile and adult involved in an incident. Especially when the juvenile has been arrested. “Inciting a riot” is a very serious charge. It usually means someone is inciting others to violence. Is that what the boy did? Did he get the students so worked up that they were about to attack the teacher? Did he become violent? If so, I would think the charge would be disorderly conduct. My bet is that the school went way over the line and had the kid arrested for simply not listening to the teacher, who wanted to control the kid’s political speech. I bet when the tape comes out, you aren’t going to see anything remotely illegal. When the tape comes out, I hope this kid sues the Hell out of the school for due process violations.
I have known many West Virginians over the years, consumed not a few beers singing “Rocky Top,” and have a hard time believing this would happen in WV. I can visualize the principal being tarred and feathered and run out of town. It once was all NRA.
Insane.
We need a Show Your Colors Day, where every pissed off patriotic American wears a Gadsden flag t-shirt, button, ribbon, or hat to show their solidarity with the Constitution.
There’s no explanation for Bill O’Reilly........oh, wait a minute.......
What?!; The rest of the class didn’t all bring pop tarts in to school the following day and gnaw them into the shape of GUNS in front of their seditious communist tin pot tyrant “educators”?
Getting real close to MLK style civil disobedience time here IMHO.
Straighten these government brainwashing mills out or shut ‘em down, I say.
Did you see where school girls were forced to do “lesbian kissing” during an “Anti bullying” indoctrination session?
By now we should all know what “anti bullying” is a code word for...
Kudos to the young Patriot for showing some good old fashioned American defiance to tyranny. I hope he gets a full scholarship to Hillsdale University.
...”The only way I can see to stop this is to sue the school, AND the teacher as an individual. It would force many teachers to file personal bankruptcy, to protect their assets”...
Teachers like this one should be sued and his teaching certificate should be suspended. Also, I would like to know a lot more about the people who teach my children, beyond their simply being certified to take the job. Things like where did they go to school, what organizations do they belong to, do they practice a religion, are they married, do they have children, where did they grow up, are they political activists, have they ever been arrested and, if so, for what? Things like that. Every year before school begins, teacher resumes should appear in the local newspaper.
I still think taking their money(as individuals) is the only way to stop them.
What is the penalty for “almost inciting a riot’? Is it similar to the penalty for “almost speeding”? Leftist teachers are out of control. Had the kid simply been yelling the F-word or wearing a Che shirt, the teacher would have been A-OK. We need to promote and encourage our youth to civil disobediance in the face of a socialist-fascist stat.
Which part of the T-Shirt nearly incited the riot? Was it the NRA part, the Protect Your Rights part, was it the picture of the gun part?
The kid should wear a different Protect Your Rights T-Shirt every day starting with the First Amendment Rights and working his way down the list. Let’s see if any of the other Amendments cause these asswipes to have a hissy fit.
Yup... probably like me “almost being a contestant on Jeopardy!” (I did try out for the show, and made it through the first cut)
Your shirt with the arrow pointing up should read:
I’m not just your
Member of Congress
I’m a Proud
BRAIN FREE ZONE!
I remember my Nan mentioning shopping at lit bros. in phila when I was a kid.
Unfortunately, she was an fdr dem.
No room for a second offense, no tolerance policy, don't you know. Perhaps they need a little of their own medicine. My thoughts on bullies has always included punching back harder. It ends things rather quickly.
