Was he actually “acquitted”, or did the judge just drop the charges?
Article says ‘acquitted’, but sourced from courtroom tweets.
I thought I read that 3 of the charges were dropped.
The charges were dropped. The headline is somewhat misleading. (I say “somewhat” because according to my limited knowledge of the law, at this point in the trial, if charges are dropped it’s considered the same as an acquittal, that is, he can’t be tried again on those same charges because double jeopardy has attached)
If he’s found guilty, then they might have to prosecute the corrupt officials around Philly who let this continue (members of hospitals, CDC, and other offices/institutions).
He dropped the charges. There’s still enough to stick a needle in Gosnell.
Don’t tell the “stupids” journalists that dismissing a charge for lack of evidence is not the same thing as a jury acquittal.
