President Blue State Flies to a Red State

President Obama is slated to fly to Texas Wednesday to attend a memorial in West, TX for the victims of the plant explosion there. On Thursday, he will attend the dedication of George W. Bush's Presidential Library on the campus of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. 

This will mark the President's third trip to a so-called "red state" since being re-elected. In contrast, he has made 18 trips to states that voted for him in the last election, what we are calling "blue states."

To be fair, several of these blue states qualify as purple, such as Virginia and Florida, nevertheless Mr. Obama won both in the 2012 and 2008  elections. 

 In total, more than 83% of his domestic travel has been to solid blue states, such as NY, CO, CT and CA. Prior to this week, his only two visits to red states have been to Georgia and North Carolina, the later which voted for him in 2008.

I think it is natural to want to go to people who support you. Obama would not be going to Texas had the explosion happened or George W.’s Library opening. I don’t remember if Bush went to a bunch of blue states when he was President...I know he went to New York after 9/11 and of course lived in DC....lol.

It absolutely tightens my jaw that my beloved VA is now a ‘purple’ state, thanks to the DC suburbs. As I’m a telecommuter, or at least that’s how my employer bills the customer, I’m considering bailing out of Tidewater VA and heading to NC.

Obama goes to mostly blue states because... that's where the money is.

Even on this trip to Texas, Obama is holding a fund raiser in Dallas -- one of the few places in Texas where Obama could actually raise any funds.

Sadly I have to agree. My grandchildren will not have a Texas to live in. It will be an annexation of stinkin’ arsed mehico. I really hate the people that have worked so hard to destroy my beloved state and country. Also, the passive losers that allowed it as long as their latte was served up with foam.
