I think it is natural to want to go to people who support you. Obama would not be going to Texas had the explosion happened or George W.’s Library opening. I don’t remember if Bush went to a bunch of blue states when he was President...I know he went to New York after 9/11 and of course lived in DC....lol.
It absolutely tightens my jaw that my beloved VA is now a ‘purple’ state, thanks to the DC suburbs. As I’m a telecommuter, or at least that’s how my employer bills the customer, I’m considering bailing out of Tidewater VA and heading to NC.

Even on this trip to Texas, Obama is holding a fund raiser in Dallas -- one of the few places in Texas where Obama could actually raise any funds.

He’s mainly going for a fundraiser. West, Texas is just a photo op along the way.
