U.S. and Canada foil Al Qaeda terrorist plot to derail New York to Toronto passenger train

Terror never rests, even on the placid train trip between New York and Toronto.

With the help of the FBI and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Canadian law enforcement officials announced Monday that they had stopped an Al Qaeda-linked plot to derail a New York-to-Toronto Amtrak passenger train, and have arrested two suspects in Montreal and Toronto.

Police charged Chiheb Esseghaier and Raed Jaser with "terrorism related offenses," officials said at a news conference Monday afternoon. The men were observed gathering information on trains in the Toronto area, officials said, which they planned to attack. The charges against the two men included "conspiring to murder persons for the benefit of a terrorist group."

According to the RCMP, the two suspects were receiving "direction and guidance" from Al Qaeda operatives located in Iran.

WTF is it going to take to wake people in the West up? We have been at war with these lunatics since 610 AD. Vienna twice besieged. Spain occupied for 600 years. Bombings across the civilized world. This is all too weird. Al-Harbi is arrested then released after Obama visits with Saudis and (according to Saudi sources) Michelle Obama visits Al-Harbi in the hospital. Then the Canadians arrest a couple of Saudis today who are trying to blow up a train. Something’s going on here. We aren’t being given the whole story.
