UPDATE: Federal prosecutors charged the surviving man suspected of bombing the finish of last week's Boston Marathon with one count of using a weapon of mass destruction and one count of malicious destruction of property resulting in death, the Justice Department said on Monday.
The charges authorize penalties including death, life in prison or a term in prison for any number of years, the Justice Department said in a statement.
Dzokhar Tsarnaev, who was seriously injured in a firefight with police before his Friday arrest, was charged in his hospital bed earlier on Monday

What for? I must have missed the news. /s
Surely he’s gotta be charged here in MA with illegal possession of a firearm, with its mandatory one-year in jail. Plus, hit-and-run, leaving the scene of an accident (running over his brother)...
He’s a muslim... for the leader of this regime, isn’t sentencing the death of a muslim brother forbidden in the Koran?
With no terrorism charges filed it probably means that no mention to terror groups or Islamist terror cells in US will be admissible in court.
This is an outrage!! Obama, holder and Big Sis are hiding their own complicity and malfeasance.
Why only one count? Two bombs exploded.

I read the cops were handcuffing Tamerlan when his brother ran over him trying to get away.
Why didn’t they charge him with at least 3 counts of murder? did I read the charges wrong?
“With no terrorism charges filed it probably means that no mention to terror groups or Islamist terror cells in US will be admissible in court.”
Yup! They’ll skate.
Maybe that's what the "one count of malicious destruction of property (hijacked car) resulting in death" is for. I'm saying that sarcastically because they also shot and killed an MIT police officer, as well as injured another police officer, so where are the charges for that, or for the three deaths as a result of their terrorist activities, and the multitude of injuries that could or have led to death. So far he's only been charged with using a weapon of mass destruction, not the deaths, injuries it caused, nor for the other bombs the police discovered. Seems to me there's a whole lot of charges that are missing.
A lot of those would be state charges, not federal, and since the feds always have more resources and move faster, the state doesn’t really care that much about getting in line behind them to add more charges. This guy’s never going to see the light of day again. It may as well be on the feds’ dime.

I read the charges wrong. he is charged with causing death.
I think his penalty should be life in prison without the possibility of parole while being forced to listen to the It’s a Small World song 24/7 and bacon for meals three times a day.
Ya gotta love that language known as "Legalese".
Should'a shot the bastard when they had the chance.

The State should follow through with a multitude of charges, since the little prick and his dead brother had the whole State on alert, a city shut down, State residents dead and injured, etc. I’ve never understood not charging these bastards with every little infraction to ensure their going to prison for a long time. Call me old-fashioned, but I believe in throwing the book at them. When I worked for NY State’s Dept. of Corrections, if a convict broke the rules and regulations, I’d make sure he was charged with every rule violation that applied to the incident, and I justified them all in the body of the report. That way, when the dickhead got in front of the Lieutenant at the disciplinary hearing, even if he threw out one or two of the charges, enough charges remained so the convict was sure to receive a tough sentence. There’s too many bleeding heart Judges, and dumbass jurors out there to only charge him with these two Federal charges.
They should have doused the boat with gasoline, and given him a Viking funeral.
We need a pressure-cooker-head Mohammed meme.
