Lindsey Graham: ‘Enemy combatant’ (In Spades!!!)
Politico ^ | April 20, 2013 | KATIE GLUECK

Several Republican lawmakers are calling for the surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings to be tried as an enemy combatant, rather than as an ordinary criminal.

“It is clear the events we have seen over the past few days in Boston were an attempt to kill American citizens and terrorize a major American city,” read a Saturday statement from Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), John McCain (R-Ariz.), Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) and Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.). “The accused perpetrators of these acts were not common criminals attempting to profit from a criminal enterprise, but terrorists trying to injure, maim, and kill innocent Americans. The suspect, based upon his actions, clearly is a good candidate for enemy combatant status. We do not want this suspect to remain silent.”

Their statement came after Dzhokar Tsarnaev was taken into custody and sent to the hospital Friday night.

[snip] “America is part of the battleground,” he said. “If you capture someone on the battleground, they should not be given the privilege of a civilian trial where they are given different rights...

[snip] “We continue to face threats from radical Islamists in small cells and large groups throughout the world,” they said. “They have, as their primary focus, killing as many Americans as possible, preferably within the United States. We must never lose sight of this fact and act appropriately within our laws and values.”

OK Ron lets look at history:

http://en.wikipedia.org /wiki/List_of_United_States_presidential_elections_by_popular_vote_margin

John Quincy Adams became president in 1824 with a lower vote share than Hitler in 1933 (or whenever it was)

So it has happened in history... and it might happen again one day.

Lincoln 38%, Wilson 41%

John Quincy Adams lowest at 31%.

Hitler was 33%.

So yeah it has happened and can happen.

Actually, J.Q. Adams was elected by the House of Representatives according to the provisions of the 12th Amendment. Andrew Jackson beat Adams in both the popular and electoral votes, but a deal with Henry Clay put Adams over the top in the House.

Graham isn’t an enemy combatant. He’s a useful idiot.

The point I was making was... well I think you get it.

What a simple and eloquent solution in this case. :)

I see no trial here, at least that is my desire. Off to Gitmo to be squeezed like a lemon for intel that can break this up and prevent future attacks.

But Obama is president, so you and the Trial Lawyers and the Media will get your trial. It will denigrate America and shelter Islam. I hope you enjoy it.

A new poll shows that 57 percent of SC “Republicans” want Graham in 2014.

I absolutely agree with your last statement. Yes, it’s way too easy to get here, and McCain/Lindsey are working hard to make it easier.

And be ready to step up. He will be challenged.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is labeling Christian organizations “hate groups”. That is one step away to calling them terrorists.

And YOU had no problem following their lead. You speak w/fork tongue.-

Sorry i’m not going to allow the Feds that power.

And you have no power to stop them - so your talk is hot air.

I am not following their lead... I do not like the SPLC. They’re a marxist organization and must be exposed.

We have the power if we combine we can be an effective force. Trust me... these people listen. See: recent gun grab attempt. WE stopped that!

I posted many times for people to contact their senators (check my history).

I posted updates on the waverers and traitors and who to target all throughout that debate including the red state Democrats.

I like to think it was worth it..

A citizen is a citizen, he took the oath. We don’t need to start down that slippery slope, Graham. Odd coming from the guy that wants to cheapen citizenship.

Yes you were following their lead, And no one needed you to know who to contact. And you didn’t stop anything - get off your high horse!

The Patriot Act covers the ‘federal’ crimes aspect if your concerned about the law. Naturally the Gov’t will use this to expand Gov’t.

I happen to believe that it’s unconstitutional like 99% of the laws they pass in Congress.

Patriot Act violates the 4th so in my opinion is unconstitutional and invalid.
