FBI now acknowledges they interviewed Tsarnaev 2 years ago at the request of a foreign country about possible extremist ties
They maintain that they did not find any derogatory information about him and closed the file. FBI expected to issue a statement shortly

That almost certainly is Russia.
Did Obama stiff Russia on cooperation with fighting islamism for the purpose of protecting muslims (”if the political winds shift...”)?
That might explain some of the hostility of the Putin regime, although there are certainly other reasons for it.
Imagine the WH Situation Room pucker factor is off the chart right about now.

The FBI is no longer competent. Not just on terrorism — In my county the controller was suspected of embezzling over a long period of time and the FBI brought in to investigate. Found no wrong doing, no evidence. Then, two years later, local PD investigated and found over $2 million missing. He was convicted. FBI agents were promoted (no doubt).
