Strange .. I haven’t heard FOX mention anything about them finding 7 more IED’s. The only stuff I’ve heard about is some bomb stuff left in the street (probably from the suspects).
They didn’t bother with it because the town was shut down.

Having worked at the Nevada Test Site, and several national labs, even low level waste is kept secure until being disposed of at places like WIPP. I doubt these guys would have the ability to even get inside the main gates.
another lesson learned...re: prepping. With the city on lockdown and people being told to ‘shelter in place’, nice to know I/we have supplies and preparations. It could happen anywhere.

If you watch or read any of the daily NRC alerts and bulletins concerning nuclear plants and nuclear related facilities, the number one problem reported seems to be missing equipment or lost/stolen material. Usually associated with medical related facilities.

It just reminded me of one of my favorite scenes from “The Incredibles” where the mother tells her kids:

That was the impression I got. And the father said if you kill the younger son all heck will break loose. Apparently the smart kid is someone special.

My thought at first glance from the location of the backpack was that it was by a lot of people who were watching but right next to metal piping for maximum effect.
I think they underestimated the ability, competence and technology of law enforcement at the operational levels.
It's a good thing there was no plausible way for Obama and Napolitano to hold law enforcement back or the two brothers would be on their way back to Chechnya in a Homeland Security Learjet and Napolitano would be waterboarding Wayne LaPierre on The View.
Can police use their cell phones to possibly trigger IED's from a safe distance?
Maybe they will set off if cell phones trigger the bombs.
I read, a long time ago that Israeli would drive around with garage door openers to effect the same triggering. Not all garages would open to their openers code. So, they just keep driving using different codes.
They were pretty effective!
