WASHINGTON, D.C.—In the wake of the deadly bombing attacks in Boston, U.S. Senator Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) today announced that he will reintroduce legislation he has proposed in a prior Congress to require that sales of explosive powder be subject to a background check. He will also file the legislation as an amendment to the gun violence prevention bill currently on the Senate floor.
No, EOs do not trump any part of the Constitution. What ends up trumping the Constitution is the gutless, nadless, GOP who will back down from defending the Constitution in the face of being called “racist”.

Well, if the Senate couldn’t put a stop to it, then it’s our turn. If the fight isn’t over, then so be it.

True enough but smoking cigarettes is not specifically constitutionally protected as gun ownership is. Therein lies the significant difference when government attempts to tax and regulate a protected right to the point of making it unusable as opposed to something - smoking - that may not be illegal but is not protected by the U.S. constitution, giving government more opportunities to eliminate it's widespread use.
Incidentally, while the federal tax on cigarettes stands at a unconscionable 1.01 per pack (and Obama was it to go to almost $2.00) the states collect the lions share of taxes. Some are quite reasonable (a mere 17¢ per pack in Missouri) while some are ridiculous ($3.50 per pack in Rhode Island). Glad I quit smoking decades ago!
Maybe defunding Secret Service would get his attention on the right track.
The blog entry was from tues. that predicted the suspects, the date of the raid today, and the goal of the "staged" attack being gun powder regulation. By today, everything the guy said has turned out to be true.

TexasCajun posted it on Wed. I had to look it up to find a source, and it was originally posted on Tues. According to the blogger, he/she was working on a security commission doing something for a camapaign. After the attack, he/she figured out what was going on and was warning people about the event being staged, and the goal of the attack was control of the gun powder used to make the ammo for guns.
So far, that blogger has been right on.
