Eleanor Clift: Newtown Families and Gabby Giffords Will Be More Powerful Than the NRA
Newsbusters ^ | April 13, 2013 | Noel Sheppard

"The Newtown families and Gabby Giffords are in the gun debate to stay, and over time their voices will be more powerful than the NRA."

So said Newsweek's Eleanor Clift during the predictions segment on PBS's McLaughlin Group Friday...

"The culture of guns is beginning to go through a transformation in this country," she added.

Maybe she should say that with a straight face to the people of Chicago so riddled with the kind of gun violence pending legislation will have absolutely no impact on whatsoever.

But nobody seems to care about that - certainly not media members such as Clift.

Tis far more important to restrict gun ownership of law-abiding citizens.

Cindy Sheehan was a simpleton used by the left and discarded like a used condom I feel nothing but pitty for her She should be ashamed at what she did but I don’t think she is that bright

She’s a poet and she doesn’t know it.

Maybe some idiot public school teacher can have her students write that on a piece of paper in crayon and stuff it into their backpacks.

The unarmed victims of criminals and drug addicts in the US would fill a couple of football stadiums...and would certainly outnumber the group SHE is talking about!

Can any of those anti gunners explain to me how taking guns away from law abiding people will make us safer from criminals and nutcases?

They think that if the parade enough victims, they will get their way.

Maybe we should parade the families of victims of people killed by illegal aliens.

The Newtown gaggle will be nothing more than an afterthought by Monday, Eleanor. They’re of no further use to Obama.

Eleanor strikes out again. If she were a ball player, her batting average wouldn’t even qualify her for the minors.

“The culture of guns is beginning to go through a transformation in this country,”

Indeed it is. Ever since 0bama got in office, people have been trying to get their hands on as many of them as they can.

Note to conservatives the anti-self defense victim disarmament people like Clift are not merely wrong, they are EVIL. But I know conservatives are trained to be nice docile creatures who look to the moral authority of the establishment left, well I say bunk to that.

Someone had a child killed by guns. Obviously that person has a privileged viewpoint that trumps the views of all other Americans, the Constitution, and all natural rights! We must all bow down to the consecrated holy victim, blessed be their victimization!

I love the way you put that! That is exactly what Obama and the leftists were hoping, that all of us would "think" with our emotions instead of reason and logic.

We lost so much with our arms that these communists Democrats are no longer interested in America. Problem is with the lead communists in the White House we are slipping into that den of communists Countries. If things don’t change soon America may no longer be the land of the free. And our lame politicians are worth nothing.

Victimization has been such a fetish as a supposed trump card over all other considerations among Leftists that, what is an oppressed victim to do when society doesn't oblige them by sufficiently oppressing and victimizing them? Why they have to create a hoax crime!

Feeling sorry for someone who lost their child doesn't mean that I am going to give up on the Constitution or surrender my natural rights.

When many hundreds died due to a false story about desecration of the Quran at Gitmo - would trotting out the families of those who died be a convincing argument that the press shouldn't be able to publish the stories (even false stories) that they want?

Somehow I am unconvinced that the ‘argument’ (i.e a naked emotional appeal, as you pointed out) goes both ways for them.
