Suddenly, it seems that the terror attack on our consulate in Benghazi last September may become relevant all over again. Yesterday afternoon, CBS Sharyl Attkisson reported that a number of whistleblowers had emerged to talk to the House Oversight Committee, in news that may have slipped under the radar of other emerging (and non-emerging) developments in the Boston Marathon attack story:
"CBS News has learned that multiple new whistleblowers are privately speaking to investigators with the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee regarding the Sept. 11, 2012 terrorist attacks on the U.S. compounds in Benghazi, Libya."
"The nature of the communications with the whistleblowers and their identities are not being made public at this time. But in response, the Oversight Committee yesterday sent letters to the three federal agencies involved: the CIA, the Defense Department and the State Department."
(snip)
Ever since the initial probe stalled a few months ago, many have wondered why the administration hasnt made the survivors of that night available to House investigators. Some have also wondered why those survivors havent come forward on their own, but if they still work in intelligence agencies, they may not have been allowed to do so. These new whistleblowers may or may not be the Benghazi survivors, but clearly theyre coming from within the intel community and Issas letter strongly suggest that they are pointing fingers upstairs.

PRAY for ISSA and all the GOOD people that know something about Benghazi!!
With the attack in Boston they are trying to accomplish what they didn't accomplish with the attack in Libya.
In Libya they wanted people to believe the terrorist were so in tune with the news they could pick up on a news story, the protest in Egypt, plan and carry out a terrorist attack in a matter of minutes, it was spontaneous.
The attack in Boston, they want people to believe the terrorist have picked up on news stories which are ginning up civil unrest and planned their terrorist attack based on what is in the news.
The silence from the attackers is what's telling because in just the last few weeks the left has orchestrated news stories to gin up civil unrest in three separate groups.
Whites, Blacks, and Hispanics. In just the last few weeks radicals from all three groups have been given reasons to attack the US.
Whites - The Obama WH, SPLC and other leftist groups have been pushing stories that the real threat to this country is from gun owning White Christians, we see it here every day.
Blacks - Eric holder began ginning up civil unrest with Blacks by claiming blacks spend too much time in prison for the crimes they commit. Real high on Black radicals list of wrongs that need to be righted.
Hispanics - CPUSA called for the illegals to resort to violence as a way of righting their perceived wrongs.
The news media immediately jumped on Whites as being behind the attacks.
Just like every other attack since 1ST WTC bombing in 1993, prior to the attack the left will always gin up civil unrest with one or all of these groups, to make it appear as if one of these groups has teamed with the terrorist.
Once again the terrorist attack is following the Weather Underground playbook.
Thank God there are still some honorable people left in Washington. The idea that this country would stand by while Americans are slaughtered and no one do anything has totally sickened me.
Neither do I, lots of talk and then nothing. His committee seems more like an info black hole then a fact finder. Very disappointed in Issa.
Sen Chuck Grassley does the same thing. Press releases, ‘investigation’, then nothing.
I suppose their defense is ‘collegiality’. The offer their fellow congressman and senators a chance to act, and when they don’t, Issa and Grassley sit down and shut up.
“Obviously the mainstream media will not touch this.”
Well...it is a local crime story.
Hillary Clinton sure became hysterical. Not presidential.
Yes please.
Your innuendo is extremely unfair or maybe just ignorant if you are not pushing some sort of agenda. Issa carried the issue as far as he could go in Congress and then sent the matter to the courts where it is being decided. F&F is not over.
And who is the "we" to which you refer? Please provide information about the group that you represent.
After I typed my post I thought of how convenient it was that Hillary left office as Sec State to have John F’n Kerry take the job. Hillary is about to find out that the wheels on the bus go round and round, with her under them. But since she’s already had her hissy fit before the Senate, nothing will happen to her other than political fallout. It will serve little purpose to drag her fat cankles out in public again, but it also kills her political future.
Which was how 0bama planned to politically capitalize on this disaster.
And speaking of convenience, the Petraeus “scandal” and resignation timed to duck out right as things started hitting the fan on the Benghazi mess.... I will never believe his departure was unrelated to this.
I suppose their defense is collegiality. The offer their fellow congressman and senators a chance to act, and when they dont, Issa and Grassley sit down and shut up."
Yeah, they only issued subpoenas, held Eric holder in contempt, and filed suit in federal court to enforce it. After all, they command vast divisions of army, marines and executive office law enforcers... oh... no they do not.
And Grassley is the minority member of the Senate subcommittee. That means he can tell the Chairman of the committee what to do... oh.. no he cannot.
So, given the the MSM is against them, so they have no leverage with the press, and are routinely ignored by most major outlets, what more would you have them do?
I bet that Issa and Grassley are just as frustrated by this administration as we are. Probably moreso, as they see the lies, obfuscations, and evidence of thugery on a daily basis, with better evidence than we have.
But, seriously, what more have they the power to do?
Actually what she said was: What difference at this point does it make?
And I have said before that "at this point" is important. It is the liberal narrative in all things. "Old news", "Move along, nothing to see here" etc. Shampoo, rinse, repeat. Ad infinitum.
Correct. A typical lib tactic; keep it tamped down till it is old news, then say "That is ancient history. Move on."
Thanks for the ping and good to see you back here following all of this.

This is definitely gonna get wild and wooly....it seems to me.
What stories do these new witnesses have to tell? Apparently nothing too complimentary. Otherwise, Oversight Chair Darrell Issa probably wouldnt need to remind the CIA to refrain from retaliation against these whistleblowers or warn the agency to get their lawyers on standby (via Instapundit):
During the course of the investigation, numerous individuals have approached the committee with information related to the attack, wrote Issa in the letters, which were obtained by The Hill.
He asked agencies to provide details on how to grant outside attorneys the security clearances necessary for them to adequately represent employees discussing classified matters with congressional investigators.
Some witnesses may be required to retain personal counsel to represent them before the committee and in the event the agency subsequently retaliates against them for cooperating with the committees investigation, he said.
Additional witnesses may be compelled by subpoena to give testimony to the committee and can be reasonably expected to retain personal counsel at that time.

Four Americans were killed in that attack, and the US was forced to publicly retreat from an area we had claimed to have help liberate and safeguard. That defeat raises a lot of questions about US actions before, during, and after the attack on the consulate,
