* Editors note: TOWNHALL News Editor Katie Pavlich is participating in a multi-day firearms training course at the Gunsite Academy in Paulden, Arizona. Stay tuned for daily dispatches. This is the fifth dispatch. As the dispatches accumulate, they'll all be available here.
PAULDEN, Ariz. - “We will teach you how to save your life.”
Now that my carbine training is complete (for now), I’m onto my defensive pistol class.
We started Monday at 8 a.m. by saying the pledge of allegiance. We were given a Gunsite defensive pistol student manual, a name tag, a pen, an American flag pin with the Gunsite logo in the middle and a mini Declaration of Independence and Constitution of the United States of America. Obviously at this place, amendment number two is the most popular.
Before hitting the range, I along with over 20 other students, were given two hours of lecture time inside of a classroom. We again went over the four rules of gun safety:
ALL guns are always loaded.
NEVER let the muzzle cover anything which you are not willing to destroy.
Keep you finger OFF the trigger until your sights are on the target.
ALWAYS be sure of your target.Which pistol Pavlich is using for her training and more photos on page two

Katie P. is a real badass. She is sending signals on multiple levels with a story about her defensive pistol class. I like all of the signals. Glad she’s on the side of the good guys. We need more like her.
Glad to see they’re still using LTC Cooper’s 4 Rules.
I’d really like to go to those classes.
Bump! Thanks for posting.
Cooper:
ALL guns are always loaded.
NEVER let the muzzle cover anything which you are not willing to destroy.
Keep you finger OFF the trigger until your sights are on the target.
ALWAYS be sure of your target.
NRA:
1. ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction.
2. ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
3. ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.
I’m with you. Jeff Cooper’s rules are closer to my own, although I more often quote NRA in discussions around those who are not sure about guns. My home defense and self defense firearms are always loaded, as they should be. Otherwise, they would be like the cars on blocks in some people’s yard with no tires and no gas - what’s the point in having them?

FReegards!
And the NRA has been all over the map. Not all that long ago, they had a long list of a dozen or so items.
Never practice quick-draw with a loaded pistol from a holster.

LOL! Elmer Keith tells how, as a boy, he once beat the boy in the mirror! Needless to say.....New mirror was needed.
Until the day you need to!
ALWAYS keep the gun unloaded until ready to use.
Why do law enforcement officers carry loaded guns?
My goodness, posting a picture of a beautiful young *lady* which I’d love to see a son bring home! I can’t tell you how sick I get of the naked, cheap-looking bimbos FR guys are always posting.
Yeah ,my friend quick-drawed n`shot off his big toe with a .45 in 1950`s [legal then] while plinking rats at the local dump.
He is a nine-toed FFL now.
If a gun is being carried, it’s being used.
I think the NRA rule has always meant STORED firearms and remains a sound rule.
She is quite well spoken too if you have ever seen her on Hannity.
There used to be "rules" about Anne Coulter too, but I must admit that I have become much less enamored of her shrill schtick in recent years.
FReegards!
I get tired of the cheap bimbo photos (particularly rearview thong shots) but then I get called a jealous prude. Please post more pics of pretty young *ladies.*
