A Meat Loaf Illness?

Don’t we have enough to worry about without meat loaf making us sick?

“That guy has more bread than prison meatloaf!”

Even worse, they write this line:
The Meat loaf illness may be connected to the American rocker being diagnosed with having a vocal chord (sic) cyst back in 2007 …
Two food poisoning jokes is worse than one.

My head used to swim from the perfume I smelled
My hands kind of fumbled with her white plastic belt
I’d taste her baby pink lipstick and that’s when I’d melt
She’d whisper in my ear tonight she really was mine

Get back in front, put some hair oil on
Buddy Holly was singing his very last song.
With your arms around your girl you’d try to sing along.
It felt pretty good, oh, you really had a good time.

Hot patootie, bless my soul, I really love that rock ‘n’ roll.

I’m not much of a concert goer but I would like to see him in concert. I pray for his quick recovery. Sounds like he’s had a few problems over the years - it’s all coming back to him now.

He has a fantastic voice-I have a couple of his songs on a CD of favorites in my truck. I don’t remember him ever being less than way overweight, though-knee replacements, fatigue, etc-apparently it has caught up with him. I’m always surprised when someone-anyone in the public eye carries around too much weight like that-it isn’t the best example to set.

I’ve always enjoyed Mr. Loaf’s music.

He has a strong, clear voice and when he sings fast, you have no problem understanding the words.

We tried some meat loaf ($5 Friday special) at the big grocery. No wonder Mr. Loaf’s sick.

I saw him a few years ago. Was pretty good, but on Paradise by the Dashboard Light his co-singer was about the same age as the girl on the original album and their age difference made it look decidedly weird.

Cheers,
Jim

“...Paradise by the Dashboard Light...”

Written by Jim Steinman. His is the voice doing “Love Death and an American Guitar” on “Bat out of Hell.” That’s the bit that starts:

“I remember everything!
I remember every little thing
As if it happened only yesterday
I was barely seventeen,
And I once killed a boy with a Fender guitar...”

First I ever heard of Steinman was “The Dream Engine” in 1968 at Amherst College. Look for his name and it shows up all over the place, but his best stuff was the Meatloaf collaberation. His music has even been butchered bu Barry Manilow and Babs Streisand; talk about singers that can suck the life out of rock and roll!
