A group of New York veterans is preparing to march into court after a town ordered the Gadsden flag removed from a military armory.
The city of New Rochelle, N.Y., has removed the Gadsden Dont Tread on Me flag from the New Rochelle Armory after the city council refused to let a veterans organization display the flag, World Net Daily reported.
The United Veterans Memorial and Patriotic Association of New Rochelle is fighting the decision, ordered by City Manager Chuck Strome after complaints that the flag is a symbol of the Tea Party movement, according to World Net Daily.

Different headline and news source; no wonder it didn’t turn-up in an FR search.
A lot more detail and a better article. Thanks for the link.
It says Dont Tread on Me and they tread all over it.
They would like to see the VietCong Flag or the Black Flag of the Taliban flying. The MSM has won—they have, with lies and smears, tarred the Tea Party as racists and neo-nazis. They used skillful propaganda to the point that a majority now believe this grand old symbol of a Tax Reform movement is a hate flag like the ‘Southern Cross’ battle flag of the defunct Confederacy (mistakenly called the Stars and Bars, and Flag of the Confederacy). Maybe its time for the Tea Party Conservatives to use a new flag—maybe the one designed by the people in the Whiskey Rebellion (another anti-Tax movement in the early years of the Republic).
I have the best plates on my vehicles and fly the same flags at my home.
.... The “Come and Take It” plates and the “Don’t Tread On Me” plates ....
Texas issued ....link below.

Stay safe Bill....
Great plates! We have some pretty bland and crappy plates here in PA.
The Bedford Flag is, IMHO, the appropriate flag we will need to fly soon. Very soon.
I snagged the come and take it plates after I saw em on a buddy’s truck.... The Gadsden Flag plates we on a old rusty rat rod ..... Tread on it and y’all get tetanus ....:o)
Stay Safe Bill !
That’s nice! One of my favorite flags is from the War of 1812, maybe a naval flag.
It’s black and has a skull and bones on it and the words “Don’t Tread On Me.”
Wish I could find it to post it. Yar, it makes a cully want to talk like a boucaneer!
“Monumental stupidity” pretty much describes ol’Chuck’s move——couldn’t have said it better myself. “Here’s your sign” Chuck baby. I’m pretty sure the next time we hear fron Chuckie he will have been schooled by the local folks about the flag. And who are the complaining dunderheads who don’t know the history of the flag -—they belong in the same class???
What a bunch of yankee idiots.
In fall 1775, the United States Navy was established by Commander in Chief of all Continental Forces, General George Washington,
To aid in this effort, the Second Continental Congress authorized the mustering of five companies of Marines to accompany the Navy on their first mission. The first Marines enlisted in the city of Philadelphia, and they carried drums painted yellow, depicting a coiled rattlesnake with thirteen rattles, and the motto “Don’t Tread On Me.” This is the first recorded mention of the future Gadsden flag’s symbolism.
Before the departure of that first mission in December 1775, the newly appointed commander-in-chief of the Navy, Commodore Esek Hopkins, received the yellow rattlesnake flag from Gadsden to serve as the distinctive personal standard of his flagship. It was displayed at the mainmast.
Another thing to try is a search using keywords. Again try "gadsden." That produces this.
Maybe the right flag is the Bonnie Blue flag of session and Nullification.
Government isn’t neutral. It has a perspective and uses its power against liberty.
Not stupidity.
Calculation.
They know exactly what that flag is and what it stands for.
That’s why they don’t want it flown.
That’s why we have the 2nd Amendment, from The Founders, isn’t it?
I'm ready.
The attack of the Battle Flag won’t ever end, if the leftists and racists get their way. It’s become their rallying point, although they have no idea of what it actually is.
don’t tase me bro...
