Representative Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) said at a Thursday press conference that House Republicans will rise up against GOP leadership if House Speaker John Boehner tries to rush any immigration reform bill through his chamber of Congress.
There would be a revolt among Republicans if Boehner abandoned regular order on this issue, Rohrabacher said in response to a question from Breitbart News at the presser.
According to a recent Politico report, Boehner is seriously considering abandoning regular order to rush through immigration reform. Regular orders is the process by which a bill is supposed to come up through the respective committees of jurisdiction and allow members of those committees to offer amendments, an open and transparent process that then is supposed to continue on the House floor.
The GOP is also mulling skipping the committee process and instead having lengthy discussions among Republicans to work out the legislations kinks, Politicos Jake Sherman wrote in the report. This would allow leading conservatives who are crafting the deal with Democrats to explain the policy. That seems to be the preferred path, according to conversations with several GOP aides.
If Boehner follows this strategy, he would be abandoning one of the key promises he made to get re-elected as Speaker just a few months ago while several conservative members tried to unseat him. At the time, he guaranteed he would return the House to regular order on all legislation, a promise that ended up helping him turn some who had planned to oppose his re-election as Speaker back into supporters.
In the end, only 12 of the 17 members needed to derail his reelection did not vote for Boehner, allowing him to squeak by in his re-election.

Why wait??? Throw him out now!
NONE of the pussies in DC have the stones to stand up to a stiff wind, let alone that drunk Boehner or (gasp) Obammy!
The whole lot of them can take a long walk off a short pier...they are ALL talk ALL the time, and not a word of truth among the lot of them! (spit!)
They will take it and like it.
If they don’t “revolt” over the 2nd amendment, there’s nothing that can wake them up.
These fools will sit on their hands like they usually do and they will do nothing, nothing at all, aren’t these the same damn fools who when they had the chance earlier this year to throw boehner out they voted him back in, wow.
Why wait??? Throw him out now!
I second that. I'm sure we can get along without self-appointed Grand Duke Boehner a lot better than he can get along without us.
Boehner HAS BEEN BOUGHT. One dinner and a boat ride is all it took.
Yep
Can the majority leader of the house be impeached ?
Giving everyone a right to vote creates a Democracy, and a political class which will pander to the parasites in exchange for power.
The Founders were brilliant men who understood history and the mistakes made by previous civilizations, mistakes which led to their demise.
I do not say that democracy has been more pernicious on the whole, and in the long run, than monarchy or aristocracy. Democracy has never been and never can be so durable as aristocracy or monarchy; but while it lasts, it is more bloody than either. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide. It is in vain to say that democracy is less vain, less proud, less selfish, less ambitious, or less avaricious than aristocracy or monarchy. It is not true, in fact, and nowhere appears in history. Those passions are the same in all men, under all forms of simple government, and when unchecked, produce the same effects of fraud, violence, and cruelty. When clear prospects are opened before vanity, pride, avarice, or ambition, for their easy gratification, it is hard for the most considerate philosophers and the most conscientious moralists to resist the temptation. Individuals have conquered themselves. Nations and large bodies of men, never. John Adams, letter to John Taylor (15 April 1814).
Democracy will prevail when men believe the vote of Judas as good as that of Jesus Christ.

It's a constitutional office.
Boehner can be swept out on a single vote ~ quite comparable to a vote of confidence in a parliamentary system only we don't call it that.
Henry Clay had his terms cut short twice, Andrew Stephenson was cut short, MIchael Kerr, Henry Rainey, Joseph Byrns, William Bankhead, and even Sam Rayburn were cut short before the end of their terms.
I suppose some of this was because of death or disability. But there's nothing to stop the majority party from withdrawing its support and bringing down a Speaker.
Bonehead is part of that movement to destroy America.
Impeachment never occurs against House members, Speaker or not.
It occurs against executive branch members and federal judges.
In the House, members CAN be expelled from the House and various lesser punishments such as a reprimand.
Leadership has to run for its positions and can be voted out just as they were voted in. But another member has to be voted into the position instead. They only stand for leadership elections at certain times, though, not ALL the time.
Conservative wing of the House can STFU.
If they were going to “revolt” they would have done LONG ago.
The opted to kiss ass - so keep doing it....
I think this is as good a time as any, to stage a coupe.
We need to replace Boehner.
Now. We need a new leader.
They sound more like Obama vs Iran...
Ok guys... one more time... Don’t do it again... or else!
Ok... that was it... I’m not taking anymore...
Now Stop it!... U better listen to me... I mean it!
Republican party is DEAD!!!!
and the ONLY PEOPLE WHO KNOW IT are the Democrats!
More theatre for those who’re still deluding themselves the Republicans are on their side.
LOL, I had to do a double take. Where you said "impeached," I originally thought you said another word, that also begins with the letters "I-m-p". Maybe that is what people would call a Freudian slip.
