Pennsylvanians have a good chance of seeing the northern lights this evening, AccuWeather says, thanks to a solar flare Thursday. Best time for viewing will be around 8 p.m. Saturday, give or take seven hours.
Viewing conditions will be best in the mid-Atlantic, specifically for parts of Pennsylvania and the Delmarva, says Accuweather.

I dont see anything; Please let me know if you see anything.
I’m in Connecticut. I haven’t seen anything yet.
Skies are clear (although the skies here are not pitch dark because I’m only a dozen miles away from civilization) - moon is a thin “waxing crescent” which is setting soon, so it is not causing seeing problems.
They come out and go back in a few times every night, last maybe 1 1/2 hr at a time. You’ll see them build on the northern horizon and work upwards overhead. Usually just pulsating, twisting, green; but I’ve seen red skys middle of the night. When I was younger, kept a dogteam. Now that’s when ya appreciate the aurora. I had this one trail that split up a narrow ridge line; kind of trail if ya went off trail; you’d roll 400 yards down. I could look out over two different mountain ranges. I’d sometimes do 50 mile night runs with the old Holcomb sled. The aurora would start to build and you could almost feel & hear it; then the wolves would open up, I really enjoyed runnin the dogteam. Hard on the knees, now just the snowmachines for me. Been here 20 years, last time visited Pa was in 97, stayed 2 days and had to get going back home, just changed too much. Couldn’t imagine calling Pa home nowadays, but still watch all the Pen & Steeler games on dir tv.
And just like that the clouds have rolled in from the North - so probably not going to see much now.
It should have been good to see them here, if it weren’t cloudy. I just went to look... Very cloudy outside, though there is something lighting the sky up that seems abnormal behind the clouds- and it gets very dark in this suburban area with many woods surrounding house. Perhaps I did see them?
