President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama paid $112,214 in federal taxes on $608,611 in income last year for a tax rate of 18.4 percent, which is slightly lower than the average rate paid by others in their income bracket.
Most American households making between $500,000 and $1 million paid a 20.6 percent rate in 2012, according to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center.
In spite of the lower tax rate, the Obamas still managed to overpay taxes last year to the tune of $16,815, according to their tax returns, which were released by the White House on Friday.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Shocker. Dems scream about “paying one’s fair share”.
What gives?
Somebody’s not paying their “fair share”.
Free rent. Free food. Free travel. What does he even need a paycheck for? Speaking engagements and his next book will dwarf these numbers.
You know, when a highly paid corporate executive uses the company plane for personal use; or has a car at his disposal; or is a member of a country or yacht club; his or her income gets grossed up by the value of what the company paid for those employee benefits.
Now, should Zer0’s income be grossed up for all the AF1 vacation travel; all of Mooch’s clothes; all her wigs?
Zer0, you want tax fairness? Fair starts at home!

Same thought at exactly the same time great minds think alike!
And 118 rounds of golf isn’t a lot in four years, not when you don’t have to worry about the parking.
Thanks Nachum.
Let then eat ARUGULA!!!!
and yet again we have to get this news from the overseas media.
Wasn’t Romney paying about this percentage in taxes when the lamestream media was raking him over the coals? Now...crickets......

Oh, wait...
This is just in your face by Obama. If he really cared about perception he would have made sure that his rate was higher. But it’s not about that at all. It’s about him and his cronies getting theirs and driving the country into the ground.
Yeah - but he paid his own expenses!
Gross him up! Absolutely. The same week we have the IRS saying they are going to tax company-provided meals and gyms, we have Slimeball in Chief revealed as a major tax chiseler. If all of his perks were counted as income, he would have a million dollar tax bill.
And most others in their income bracket don’t have free housing, free transportation, free office staff and equipment and supplies, free housekeeping and gardening, and on and on and on .. and let’s not forget 99% of the cost of those endless vacations on others’ dimes
