Bidens Donate $2,000 of Clothing, Boots, Toys, Pottery, Etc. to Goodwill

"The Bidens contributed $7,190 to charity in 2012," the White House revealed today. A look at the Bidens joint filing reveals that $2,000 of that donation was in the form of "donated property" given to Goodwill in Wilmington, Delaware.

Here's the relevant form, from the Bidens' tax return:

As the form states, on June 25 of last year, the Bidens gave "Clothing, Boots, Kitchenware, Glassware" totaling $400 to Goodwill. Earlier, on May 16, the Bidens gave "Furniture and Exercise Equipment" valued at $1,100 to the Ministry of Caring. And on May 27 of last year, the Bidens gave "Bicycles, Toys, Glasses, Pottery, Kitchenware" valued at $500 to the same Goodwill.

As for the other donations, the Bidens gave cash contributions totaling $5,190, including $20 to the Northern Virginia Community College Educational Foundation and $50 to the Ministry of Caring:

In 2012, the Bidens gave 1.87 percent of their $385,072 income to charity.

Looks like the Bidens had a garage sale. And the junk that didn't sell?

I also itemize donations of clothing, etc., since it is a moral obligation to send as little in taxes as in legal so that we don’t fund the current regime. The difference is that on the day I file my taxes, I also write a check to my favorite charity. The amount of the check is the amount that I saved on taxes through the charitable deduction (and I donate a whole lot more to charity than Biden does, both in dollars and as a percentage of my income)

Cheap SOBs . . . one year before he ran for VP they gave a grand total of $300. The media should have had a field day with that brand of hypocrisy

The pseudo-elites are penny pinching snobs that give NOTHING away unless it is used up, broken, torn and or no longer working.

They must have felt really generous because it was an election year. In other years, it hasn't even come to 1%.

Better than the usual $300 they annually give to charity.

If you take out the $2,000 for Goodwill items, they donated only 1.35% of their gross income.

Last time (I forgot which year) the Bidens showed up in a fundraising event for one of the charities, and made the claim that they “donated thousands”.

The other difference is you probably don’t go around saying it’s patriotic to pay a lot in taxes.....

True. Its patriotic to pay as little as possible within the law in taxes - especially as we transition from freedom to socialism.

All rounded numbers to the 100s, and nothing in the “Cost” boxes. In other words, these were pure guesstimates and no doubt were inflated since no effort was made to determine the Bidens cost of the items and whether their “Value” was a true indicator for the actual deduction.

What a pair of hypocritical cheapasses.

They donate their junk in return for inflated tax deductions.

Aren’t all tax donations “guestimates”? Cost? He used thrift store value .. Which is what I do. What is important is their value on the open market. except I round to 10s and not 100s. But then I am just a lowly schmuck and not a genius VP like Biden.

The form still asks for “Cost” and from that one can judge whether the “thrift shop value” is bona fide guesstimate. The fact they used rounded numbers for dozens of items tells me they just threw numbers there rather than follow the instructions.
