Weiner represented Queens and Brooklyn for more than a decade before resigning amid a 2011 scandal over lewd online behavior.
NEW YORK Former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner, who resigned over a sexting scandal in 2011, says he's weighing a run for New York City mayor this year.
The Democrat told The New York Times Magazine in a story posted online Wednesday that "it's now or maybe never for me" but acknowledged that it's a long shot because some people "just don't have room for a second narrative about me."
Weiner said that his political committee spent more than $100,000 on polling and research by Obama's longtime pollster, David Binder, but said he doesn't know when he'll decide on entering the race.

Our society is so sick that no crime or indiscretion committed by a politician causes his career to be ended. These perverts are so incompetent and so addicted to living at the public trough that they will do anything to stage a comeback. Weiner is a public disgrace; he should slink away and live the remainder of his sorry life in obscurity. If the people of NYC elect this knothead, they will receive everything they richly deserve.

Exactly. It’s a disease that infects all political parties. Bubba, Vitter, Sanford, Weiner...the list is long. They know they can get away with it because of the decay in our culture and the lack of public shame. Just another form of corruption.

Our society is so sick that no crime or indiscretion committed by a politician causes his career to be ended. Allowing for some potential for personal rehabilitation, I consider the vile Anthony Weiner and how soon after his resignation this is and marvel at his gall.
I do not believe NYC could not elected him. Saying they'd receive "everything they richly deserve" is naive.
