North Korea 'finishes missile launch preparations' and warns foreigners to evacuate South
NORTH Korea has completed preparations for a mid-range missile launch from its east coast, officials in Seoul have revealed just hours after foreigners living in South Korea were warned to quit the country.
North Korea's Asia-Pacific Peace Committee said in a statement monitored in Seoul that foreign nationals should find out in advance where they can take shelter as well as examine evacuation plans to leave the country.
"We do not wish harm on foreigners in South Korea should there be a war," said the KCNA news agency, citing its Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee.
The remarks come as the communist country has repeatedly said it will turn Seoul and Washington into a "sea of fire" and launch pre-emptive nuclear attacks against its enemies.

In a sensible world, we would have already acted, decisively, and announced “Pre-emptive strike? Yeah. We know what those are.”
That was quick.
This is a liquid fueled rocket. It takes time to fuel up and the process is detectable from space. US authorities know what is going on.
It is rare to empty these birds once they have been fueled up. Looks like some fireworks ahead this week.
They will fire them out to sea. Russia will see how we react.
Then Kim goes to his room to pout.
Or he starts a conflagration of biblical proportions.
My bet is on Aegis destroyers from Japan or S. Korea knocking one or two of these missiles down. Can’t wait to see the video...
He is out of the missile test business.
Any missile not fired toward China is presumed to be targeted and a hostiles act and shot down.
My guess is that is exactly what he is up to so he can claim US aggression to keep his belicose rhetoric rising. Meanwhile, why does he need a missile? Seems to me just loading a nuke onto a ship and sending it to a US coastal city would be almost as effective as a direct hit would do, no?
The launch pads are right on the coast. This means that an Aegis could be located 13 miles away, although getting out past artillery range would be smarter, lets say 25 nm.
At 25 nm, the Aegis might not even require an SM3 to knock down the missiles (using the SM2), as the launch would likely climb up and over teh Aegis position.
Stooopid!
Can’t even spell dung properely.
Shouda be Kim Ding-Dung.
Obama will write a stern letter to the UN if Seoul is whacked
Only the SM-3 can intercept a ballistic missile, and the intercept point MUST BE OUTSIDE THE ATMOSPHERE (the actual seeker and final stage are not aerodynamic.)
The problem is, fired near the launch point, an SM-3 Block I can't catch up to a ballistic missile in a tail chase; it's too small and too slow.
Unless the missile launches fail, everyone is just going to be waving at them as they go by, even if they are launched over Japan.
Boost phase intercept only would work with a ginormous missile - one was under development (the KEI) but it was canceled. It wouldn't have fit on a US Navy surface ship.
Rock & Roll !
This article says possibly tomorrow. Also, that if it goes over open water, the US will not shoot it down. But, the timing may still be speculation.

They should "shoot it down" on the launch pad.
