A year and a half into his dismal attempt to turn around J.C. Penney, Ron Johnson was ousted as chief executive on Monday and replaced with his predecessor, Myron E. Ullman III, as the board searched for a new direction for the struggling retailer.
The board said Mr. Ullman, who was at the helm for seven years, is well positioned to quickly analyze the situation J.C. Penney faces and take steps to improve the companys performance.
Penneys shares, after initially rising 10 percent after hours on reports that Mr. Johnson was out, then headed downward and were off more than 6 percent from Mondays close.
Since Mr. Johnson arrived in late 2011 after heading Apples retail operation, Penney has wrestled with one problem after another.

The only thing that would make this better would be lawsuits by stockholders against him and for him to be completely ruined financially for destroying a wholesome family company by shoving the gay agenda into our faces.
Other companies: TAKE NOTE.
LOL.
Ahem..this appears to call for pictures.
For their next CEO they brought in their old CEO (the one before Johnson) in an interim capacity. A lot of analysts are expecting them to be taken private.
Come on, it is basically a price and demand thingy... If Walmart offers the same item at a lower price, why go to JCP? Either they compete or go out of business.. They can offer all the celebrity endorsed item they want but that does not beat price! Sorry to see them go, but they are on the way out...just like Sears.
Golden Parachute: After his short stint as J.C. Penney president (about eight months), Michael Francis received $4.7 million in 2012 under his termination pay agreement. Heres how that breaks down: $3,600,000 severance payment representing 18 months of base salary plus incentive compensation at target, $455,738 partial year incentive compensation payment at target, $26,212 for medical, dental and life insurance, $25,000 for financial counseling services and $80,769 for accrued but unpaid vacation. The amounts shown also include the value of the following perquisites received by Francis: personal use of corporate aircraft, $49,325 and financial counseling services, $14,500.
Francis also got to keep his $12 million sign-on bonus from 2011. There was a stock award too. The prorated amount vested was valued at about $2 million of a potential $32 million if he had stayed around a few years.

sorry... i do not know how to post pics... :(
The same board that hired him and let him run the company into the ground will likely hire someone just as bad
Another ego bites the dust. He’ll never get it.
how does one accrue $10,000 a month vacation time?
When will JCP fire Ellen the Degenerate?
but Walmart does not offer the same quality in clothing... any clothing from Walmart loses it's shape immediately... Walmart offers disposable clothing... throw-aways after a few wears... a couple of washes and the item has lost its shape... the only wearable items i buy from Walmart are Danskin t-shirts--as they are thin and fit nicely... and fishnet
i have never shopped at Sears except for a microwave and dishwasher...
Maybe Ron Johnson should get a job working for Mayor Bloomberg - he can be on the team mocking citizens who drink large sodas... the team can be called the ‘Look at us Aren't we Cool’ team.
Some people never get out of high school...
fishnet stockings... if i am in a rush and cannot get to VS...
Which is why Ackman is being so vocal: http://www.businessinsider.com/bill-ackman-ron-johnson-comments-2013-4
"Did you hear? J.C. Penney just sacked 'our' CEO."
"I don't care. He didn't have any fashion sense anyway."
What are the gays going to do?
i do not think i can get the same quality of outfit somewhere else for less than $23...
JCP will soon do the marketplace a favor and die.
So how did that Ellen Degeneres business model work for you, Mr. Johnson?
