Sen. John McCain says he doesn't understand the threats from some of his Republican colleagues to filibuster a bill on background checks to buy guns.
"I don't understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.”
"What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?" McCain said on CBS's "Face the Nation."

A McCainized version is long overdue, although Shanklin’s “Maverick John McCain” to the tune of the Maverick TV western was pretty good.

Had a President RINOmney proposed this same law - and he did similar in Mass. - republicans would have felt compelled to support him. I’d rather have a clear enemy than a false friend.

Term limits make sense. It isn’t age that made McCain a liberal R.
That's how far these dopes have fallen. The purpose of the US Senate is to preserve American liberty.
I don’t thank McCain for nominating Palin. Had he not nominated Palin, she would be in a better position than she is now. So many voters can’t stand Palin, but if she would have climbed the ladder on her own, it would have happened in a short time and she could have avoided the media assassination. She at least wouldn’t have been blamed for the AZ shootings.
